We are excited to announce the Original Alloys series, in which musicians create original compositions using the physical sounds of Bande des Quatres jewelry.

This new series is kicked off by Belgian duo @A-T-O-S, whose members Amos and Truenoys craft smoky, sultry electronica that soothes and haunts. 

@A-T-O-S (A Taste of Struggle) is a collaborative project by Belgian musicians Amos and Truenoys, whose eponymous debut single caught the ears and support of dubstep pioneer Mala in early 2013. A/T/O/S released their debut album in March 2014 on @DEEP-MEDi-musik, a coarse, ambient journey through sounds that are hardly limited to neo-soul, downtempo electronica, and brooding dubstep.  Though they keep much of their personal backgrounds at bay, A/T/O/S' workflow is pretty organic—Truenoys'  & Amos' beats and percussive elements forge the foundation upon which Amos lends her effortless melodies and thoughtful lyrics.

When pegged to make a DJ mix for the Precious Metals series, A/T/O/S in turn requested to create a wholly original piece of music using the sounds of the jewelry as instrumentation. The two brilliantly warped samples of several of the pieces from the collections to craft an 8-minute composition featuring the newly made instruments and Amos' vocals. The result is a fluid, emotive record that reflects the explorative yet understated designs of the various jewelry. We have to thank A/T/O/S for suggesting and initiating our new series, as well as for creating such an evocative piece of music. 

A/T/O/S is currently gearing up for shows (http://www.hetdepot.be/concerten/anushka-atos-maverick-poldoore-cool) in Belgium on November 1st with with Brownswood duo @AnushkaUK and preparing their next release.

I made 12 with Robin Hannibal last year at Red Bull Studios London. Loved him since hearing Quadron's Average Fruit and although this track never made it onto 'Tough Love',  it was a joy to work with Robin finally. This is a song for my Sam and I hope you like it, play it late and go kiss someone x
