For number thirty-five, Naarm/ Melbourne based collective @chomleychomley present a beautifully balanced, energy fuelled mix ranging from downtempo jazz and electronica to trance, techno and a bunch of lush tracks produced by some of Melbourne's most talented emerging artists (including some Animalia alumni ;)

In recent times the collective have been building a name for themselves through a range of special events in VIC and most recently an overnight doof in the ACT... a feat the entire east coast music community can be grateful for during the covid-19 era!

This is the first edition of my irregular recurring show on gatekeeper radio:

The show is always based on a vibe you get along the way. 
For this, I always invite guests to take over half of the mix, I'll take the other half. 

For the first one, I've gone for a pretty broad theme: Create a mood that you might find yourself in at night, on the go, in a city.

Therefore, I invited the multi-talented producer and DJ duo A2iCE & BO3, who are known for their genre-blending sound that traverses techno, bass and experimental styles. I especially love their productions because they combine trippy, organic and atmospheric sounds with percussive, varied and bass-heavy rhythms. After they performed a live set at our sympuls.festival, I just had to ask them for this. 

Not surprisingly, their mix definitely hits the spot, starting off atmospheric before becoming more percussive and upbeat. Check it out!

The second release on GRACE comes courtesy of @keplrr. Following Katiusha’s EP in spring, ‘False Awakening’ extends the label’s vision for mind-blurring techno flavours. 

The UK artist showcased his ear for unusual ceremonial techno on his recent ‘Plumes’ record for Midgar. On GRACE002, Keplrr goes deeper into that style. What’s now becoming his signature psychedelic elegance unfurls over two 8-minute journeys, run through with hallucinatory ebbs and flows.

Jana Kerima is an artist, producer and DJ. For her mix, she has taken a little journey through her favourite tracks at the moment, starting with dubby house numbers and then drifting into percussion. It is an essential part of her mixes that tell a story, that the tracks connect and that you can lose yourself in the music. The mix consists of 50 percent old vinyl releases, which she combines here with newer tunes to create a kind of timelessness. As a producer, she creates soundtracks for artistic projects alongside more experimental releases.
