Mixtape "those were the days" |:| 01 - Intro

This is Part II of my personal "how i met the Bass"-Mixtape. Really liked the idea thats behind the official "how i met the bass"-channel and carried the idea to make one for myself for quite some time. Since I came across some of my old folders with music i finally got to it. The quality of some tracks is way from perfect, but decided to go with it since, well, thats exactly how i listened to this music in the past. Both Parts work on their own, for the "full tour" please use the order given by thy Playlist. More Parts may be added in the future.

Most of the Tracks are quite short and don't sport much of a build-up or fade-out so i decided to go with a more mixtape-ish kinda style for the set without any real transitions and only minor fading between tracks. Didn't want to ruin the Tracks with heavy pitching and looping, just for the sake of doing proper transitions.

Part II comes with many Tracks from the Audiolith-Label and is more vocal heavy due to the Elektro-Punk affiliation. Artists featured would be for example Egotronic, Frittenbude, Supershirt and Rampue (old productions partly together with plemo). Elektro-Punk was my first connection to more raw electronic music, coming from plain rock music. It also gave me a first impression of the underground electronic music scene and the entangled rave culture which ultimately led to working venues and events and becoming a DJ myself.

This is Part I of my personal "how i met the Bass"-Mixtape. Part I comes with a vibe, which I would call "straight to the face-rave-electro". Music I really really would like to hear in a club and go complete bonkers over it. Artists featured would be for example Digitalism, The Bloody Beetroots, The Crookers, Pendulum and The Prodigy; also some remixes from the Ed Banger-Label. Genre varies between Dub, DnB, Dubstep and Electro. tried to keep it meldic and most Track bring vocals.

Old Tracks, still feelin' a bit rusty recording stuff but finally felt like doing it again. Melodic driving Techno on 115 BPM - Slow, melancolic, dystopian and heavy to the heart.

Beyond Past

A Door can be a lot of different things or concepts. Its always about change, physical or spiritual, and part of a process. Also about leaving, ending or starting something new ....

I came to love and live the Electronic-Music with Tabula Rasa and their Parties in Dortmund. This eventually got into DJing myself which soon lead to a Residency at my lovely Collective and playing venues all around the Ruhr(gebiet)-Area.

Style-wise I feels home somewhere between progressive house and driving techno as well as  surfing on melodic oriental-inspired patterns and deep synthie-lines.
