This sub genre of music is having tons of success all around the globe and you’re probably asking yourself: ok, but what the fuck is Trap music? Luckily for you, we’re going to discuss everything you must know in order to be in the loop on trap music. You’ve probably listened to some trap songs and felt instantly energised to party all night, right?. What is it Trap Music? Trap music is a sub genre originally created during the 90s thanks to the southern hip hop found in the southern United States. Even though it has a long time in the music background, it’s not until these days that it has become extremely popular, especially for young audiences. Trap Music is everywhere, from parties, concerts, commercials to festivals and so on. You seriously have to be living under a rock if you don’t know what kind of music this is. People ask frequently where trap music got the name from. Actually, it has its own explanation and it got that name because the term ‘‘trap’’ is related to drug deals, specifically the place where drug deals took place. aka Trap House. However, the movement has changed and it’s not the same it was in the 90s. Nowadays, it’s a completely different with an EDM twist. Trap Music in 2017 Trap music has thrived with an outstanding success from 2010. From 2010 to 2017, trap music in one of the most successful sub genres around the globe by the hand of artists and DJs which created songs that have been on the Billboard charts since them. Trap has a strong presence this decade by maintaining itself as a mainstream Billboard music charts. One of the most successful trap songs during this decade is the single by the Brooklyn-based rapper Desiigner named ‘‘Panda’’.
