This remix has been months in the making, and I'm honored to be able to share a piece of work that I'm incredibly proud of with all of you. I first started working on it the better part of eight months, soon after "How You Like That" was released as part of BLACKPINK's full-length debut album "The Album." But as I was working, I realized how much of an undertaking this was going to be for me; not only because it would push my creative and technical skills further than they'd ever been pushed before, but because of the time I would have to put into it. I ended up taking several long breaks from working on this project over the course of the past few months because of school and other obligations, but the beginning of this Summer vacation has given me the time to complete it. So now, finally, after the many stages this song has gone through, I'm proud to present my remix (reset, if you will) of BLACKPINK's "How You Like That."

The vocals and melody during the intro are the only elements I kept from the original song. I stripped the song down, took it back to square one (for people who may understand that, pun absolutely intended), and rebuilt it from the ground up. That's where "Reset" comes from. Huge props to @moorekismet and @akirakhan as my biggest inspirations!

This first reset marks a turning point for me: one where I can create music that I admire, am developing the technical skill and creativity to write it, and can express myself through my music however I wish to. Thank you all so much for your growing support, and enjoy my best and most creative piece yet.

BLACKPINK - How You Like That (Flaire Reset)

BLINK is a project that I've been working on in the peace between breaths at this point. It's been my most on-again off-again project to date because of the toll that the last few months have taken on my energy. I finally decided to wrap it up a week ago, so here we are.

This song was expressive and cathartic for me to write, and vividly illustrates my feelings and emotional state at the time I was creating it. I had both a lot of trouble and a lot of fun getting it to where it is now, and it shows how far I've come in bass music over the past year. Enjoy this one! I had a lot of fun.

Confluence: (n) The junction and convergence of two rivers; a flowing together, meeting, or gathering at one point.

Three years ago, I never would have imagined I could write, compose, and produce something like this. Confluence, to me, has represented all of the growth that I've gone through both over the past few years, and specifically the past four months. Over time, I've experimented with different genres, sounds, and compositions, and I've honed my sound into something I'm proud of. Recently, however, I became involved with a high level chamber choir that completely changed my perspective on composition. That was where the ideas that compose Confluence began taking form, merging, and blending together.
My work with them over the past few months has also allowed me to take a look inward and focus on improving myself, and walk the paths I travelled to become the person I am now. Confluence is the convergence of all of my experience and self-improvement. I hope it's able to take you on the journey that it took me.

Confluence is in the key signature F#m/Amaj, and later Dm. Its time signature is 7/8, which is felt in two groups of two beats, and one group of three.

Judging by my success in this mix, I am thinking about entering the Monstercat Mix Contest 2020 with some help from a friend of mine who knows plenty of their tracks. I know it may be a little unrealistic, but I hope to make it as a finalist. Anything's possible, right?

Flaire - 2020 Mix 1

This is my submission mix for Monstercat: Call Of The Wild's Mix Contest 2020. I worked very hard on this mix, trying to make it the best that it could be, and making sure that I was proud of it at the end.
I had many doubts along the way, but I also had hope that this could be on par with other submissions to this contest. With pride, I can say that it was. However, there is a long way for me to go if I want to make it to a finalist slot.
With that said, I'm going to be working my ass off over the next year, balancing both music and school so that I can achieve my goals both inside and outside of my social and school life.
