News/narration and background sounds on this song are taken from various sources all documenting the people's resistance against a power plant in Batang, Central Java, Indonesia, where citizens find themselves united against the police and the army. 

There, dozens of people have been imprisoned and 7 have gone missing with no news about them until now.

This power plant conflict is one of the recent land-based conflicts around natural resources that has occurred in Indonesia. It's related to the expansive nature of capitalism known as primitive accumulation that is still ongoing and, like any other 'crisis', it is an integral part in the process of capitalist production.

This has always had the same result: residential evictions of urban poor, the shooting and imprisonment of citizens and farmers, land grabs, land conversion from its function as a form of preservation of ecological and socio-cultural integral indigenous land to real food, mining, agro-industry, and the separation of the farmers from the means of production and forcing them to become industrial workers, which ultimately aims to accumulate wealth into the hands of an elite few.

🐉 First compilation of singles by British musician Jon Connell. These are all early Lo-Fi recordings, truly genuine with himself as a songwriter, singer and guitarist. A visionary that makes me think of The Beatles if they were depressed, got drunk and started playing punk in a garage.
I met this man while living in Barcelona and was attracted to his melancholy and humanistic side. He now spends his days in Vietnam, where he lives and works.
