The dream team pairing of Steve Bug and Cle are back on Poker Flat with another pair of absolute heaters. The duo have worked together countless times, both being veterans of the German rave scene spanning right back to its early days, yet their output remains as fresh and vital as ever. 

'Gentle Push' is a case in point - choppy samples kick off proceedings, heavy on the FX before classic house chords and a thick, rolling bassline bubble up to the surface. The kick is held off until the optimal moment, making this a candidate for a full arms-in-the-air moment. 

A Pinch of Space is a little harder, but seems crafted from the same elements. The kick hits hard while a shimmering synth lead is layered via heavy delays and reverb to create a trippy, psychedelic vibe.

May saw the release of Matthias Vogt's extraordinary new album: Pianissimo. A sound journey based on piano compositions, enriched with guitar sounds, drum and percussion parts, electronic influences and snippets of interviews with environmental activists. 
Music that is very unique and cannot be directly assigned to any genre.
Two club mixes of Pianissimo tracks were created, which are now released on Flaneurecordings:
The Losoul mix of "The Mind Traveller" is a twisted dub that is cleverly teasing original elements again and again and finally boils up in a break. Peter Kremeier aka Losoul, producer legend from Frankfurt's Playhouse environment is himself a traveler in electronic music and takes us here on his very own internalized trip.
Flaneur boss DJ Jauche takes on "Shimmering Sea" and works close to the original, but refines the track masterfully for the deep dancefloors. A sound that works great for open airs as well as clubs. Very soulful, crisp and stylistically confident.

At the time, I was making music in the Funkhaus, a huge complex that used to be the GDR Radio offices for East Berlin. The building would become rather eerie and spooky during the night, and this would be the time where I would come up with strange and hipnotic tracks such as these...

Following contributions from Carl Craig, Stacey Pullen and Wajeed, Swiss DJ and producer Mirko Loko steps forward to curate & mix the latest volume of Planet E’s compilation series celebrating the international legacy of the Motor City's electronic music heritage, Detroit Love Vol. 4. Active since the late nineties when he first began DJing in the clubs of Lausanne, Switzerland, Mirko Loko has always felt a deep connection to the music of Detroit. Having been personally invited by Carl Craig to play at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2001, that connection has stayed consistent and electric ever since. Mirko Loko is also known as a Cadenza mainstay and a curator of Verbier's Polaris Festival, but the music of the Motor City has been the guiding force of his creative career.

Released on digital and vinyl formats, Mirko's selection offers a taste of Detroit that intermingles emerging talent and the deepest cuts from established heroes. Mirko has loaded the mix with exclusive productions & remixes including new collaborations with Derrick May and Ursula Rucker; an updated version of his classic recording with Stacey Pullen, ‘Tronic Illusion’; an exclusive remix of Japan's Takuya Yamashita; and a new track under his Bel Air Ltd alias. Each of these will be available on the vinyl edition, alongside the tracks from Phase Force, Lady B and a heretofore unreleased Carl Craig edit of DJ Deep & Romain Poncet's Sergie Rezza project.
