Italian DJ and producer, Ruben Lasala gets his first Toolroom Trax release this February with brand-new single, ‘In Your Mind’.

Ruben’s career began in 2014 with his other alias, Rayven & Valexx which led to big collaborations with internationally renowned artists and releases on highly respected labels within the Dance world. Having spent the last few years focusing solely on his solo productions and honing in on a signature sound, Ruben is making his mark on the Electronic scene once again with recent productions on Defected’s D4 D4NCE and Unity Records.

Up next, German DJ and selector Eddie Thoneick returns to the label, this time around collaborating with fresh, new Scottish talent Ross Thomson to drop a serious bomb of a track, ‘Mind Control’.

After making his Toolroom debut last year with the sub heavy, ‘Take It Back’, Eddie Thoneick kicks up 2023 to a new level with ‘Mind Control’, a track that packs a serious punch with the bare essentials. From psyche rock to electro, Australia's geographical remoteness has proved no disadvantage to the non-stop stream of world-conquering artists emanating from it over the last couple of years. Take Adelaide, a city perhaps not immediately as well known as the iconic waterfront architecture of Sydney or the arts scene of Melbourne, yet still the birthplace of stars from singer/songwriters Sia and Tkay Maidza (who appeared on Martin Solveig’s huge hit ‘Do It Right’) to DJs like Motez and Sonny Fodera.

Already following in this jet-stream all the way to BBC Radio 1 is 28-year-old Flash 89, aka Dutch Australian Paul Kranenburg. Having caught the attention of Danny Howard for his bumping house remix of 'Go Bang’ by ARIA Award winning countrymen PNAU, its techy grooves slip seamlessly into the new school house sound spearheaded by artists such as Eats Everything and Patrick Topping.

Then again, music is in his blood. Flash 89’s grandmother worked for EMI as a plugger and used to send him old records to sample, shaping a taste for electronic music that started over a decade ago when names such as Switch, Plump DJs and Fake Blood dominated Australia's festival scene and kick-started Flash 89’s foray into production. His pulse now beats to the four four of house, but the bass-driven element of drum and bass and similar sounds still has an influence on his energising sound.

Spending the last six years DJing around the country and honing his skills, in the last nine months Flash 89 has been fully committed to the studio, paving the way for his emergence onto the international scene. With a a diverse cast from Mat.Joe to Luigi Madonna already supporting his 'Go Bang' remix, debut single 'Generate' provides the next electrifying spark point. A bleeping, swinging beast, it recalls the classic Chicago sound of Green Velvet. So cameras ready... prepare for Flash 89, the next fresh talent shining out of Australia's ever expanding dance scene.

If you had an eye on the recent end of year charts you would have seen Mike Vale's name a lot. His version of "Music Is The Answer" was the #2 best selling house track of the year on Beatport. It really was one of those songs you heard all over Ibiza last summer. 

"Just A Friend" is the follow-up. For the idea, Mike samples the classic Angie Stone song "I Wish I Didn't Miss You" for the break and reworks its hooks over a heavyweight rhythmic groove for the rest. It's a proper banger with a party breakdown.
