This week we’re continuing on our edit series with not just one, but two up and coming artists that have supplied the heat for this weekends heat🌡

Both @charliericedj and @jamesjacksondj have both been putting in the work for quite some time now, with Charlie bagging himself releases on some big labels such as @cr2records, @solamusicuk and Lowerhand Records - whilst each of them have secured residencies at the likes of FlightmodeMCR and Glazbu Sessions, warming up for some huge names such as George Smeddles, Casey Spillman and Robbie Doherty (just to name a few)🔥

The boys are bringing a taste of Nigeria to the UK this week with their edit of the SPINALL anthem ‘Sere’ 🇳🇬 using stems from the original track and combining them with a creative use of percussion, some hard hitting kicks, and a bassline that will leave you needing to move your waistline - this is a track that isn’t to be slept on this summer!☀️

One of the most exciting and innovative producers of recent years, Latmun delivers the two-track Try Stop Me EP on Kaluki: a pair of twisted, hypnotic rollers that further demonstrate his innate production prowess. Both his DJ sets and productions are characterised by a coherent energy, with his infectious grooves the key component for captivating dancefloors, earning him an ever-growing legion of fans worldwide. 

Key milestones from Latmun's career to date include his Def EP on VIVa which still gets hammered by the likes of Skream, Claptone, Claude Vonstroke and Mathias Tanzmann and his remix of Green Velvet's seminal Flash, right up to recent releases on a diverse range of labels including Repopulate Mars, elrow, Snatch!, Hot Creations and Emerald City. 

Landing on Kaluki this September, the Try Stop Me EP is typical of Latmun's hypnotic, intricate style. Lead track 'Try Stop Me' is a swaggering Minimal Tech House banger with a rolling bassline, complex percussion, chopped vocals and a tense breakdown complete with steadily rising synths. Honey is another heady, trippy cut, with a sultry vocal, punchy drums and a subtle, warped acid line bubbling along in the background. 

While the global dance scene may be paused at the moment, Try Stop Me EP is a timely reminder than Latmun is still doing what he does best: creating AAA cuts, ready and waiting for when the dancefloors are packed once again.

Making his debut on Libero Records, Australian artist Daniel Cuda delivers a statement piece in his ‘Steps’ EP. Offering up two original cuts, joined by Barcelona-based artist and label favourite Gruuve on remix duties.

‘Steps’ kicks things off with a striking combination of pounding kicks and subtle percussive groove layers - bound together by a rattling underbelly of rhythmic sub-bass notes. Truly underground in its aesthetic, the track uses cleverly modulated vocal samples to create builds that cut through its atmospheric breaks.

Gruuve’s remix offers a dubby and loosely-swung alternative to the original mix, adding an eerie twist to the clever use of FX in its predecessor. The key emphasis of the track is its rich analogue feel, which gives it an unparalleled level of individuality. Another attention-grabbing record to add unique flavour to any collection.

Daniel closes off the EP with an archetypal Libero number, rounding off the release nicely. Subtle, groove-focused with splashes of vocal presence and easy to digest with maximum effect. Blending a mix of Deep Tech and Deep House in sections, rounding off the release making it three from three standout tracks.
