광화문과 1020버스 

고등학교 때 학교 가기 싫어서 나선 곳이 광화문 교보문고이다. 엄마는 학교에서 전화 오는 게 제일 싫었다고 하지만. 미안해요 나는 기억이 잘 안 나요. 마음이 불안할 때면 그냥 가는 곳. 오래도록 변하지 않는 자리에 있어서 그냥 갈 수 있는 곳이 나에게는 광화문이다.

작년, 전시장 피크닉 섭외로 무성영화 [북국의 나누크]의 사운드트랙을 작곡하고 있을 때이다. 함박눈이 오는 날. 음악 작업실이 평창동에 위치해 있어 화정박물관에서 광화문까지 1020 버스를 타고 이동했다. 작업한 음악을 들었다. 음악의 길이가 버스 이동 시간과 똑같았다. 말로 설명할 수 없다. 단어로 나열할 수가 없다. 내가 버스에서 본 것들, 광화문으로 가는 오래된 내 모습, 풍경 모두.

"No matter where life takes you... don't forget where you came from"

The whole concept behind this project was to try and blend in a different culture with lofi/chillhop/electronic music. Each track utilizes samples that give off a persian vibe, whether that would be dialogue in farsi, ethnic instruments or the ambiance of the society. I tried to give it a more middle eastern feeling while trying to portray my sound at the same time.

My early childhood revolved around this culture and each track conveys certain memories or timelines within my days in Iran. The tracklist follows a chronological format relative to the timeline of my childhood. I'm not going to say much about the meaning behind these songs but you should be able to work it out and piece it together ;) because the beautiful thing is that everyone has a unique perspective on it.

For some of the tracks, inspirations were arised from different artists including: Ludovico Einaudi, Mayflwr and ford.
