[ENGLISH] Headroom was always different.

It was never just about explosive drops or catchy melodies — it was about textures, rhythmic intelligence, and a hypnotic groove that seemed to speak directly to both body and mind.

On July 10th, 2011, I recorded this set as a “Best Of” — a tribute to that unique sonic universe created by Adam Metcalfe, the South African producer behind the Headroom project. At a time when psytrance was becoming increasingly fast and maximalist, Headroom delivered something deeper — music that didn’t just make you dance, but made you dive into a full-blown synesthetic experience.

These are 11 carefully mixed tracks that explore the more technical and visceral side of psytrance — from “Artelligent” to “3-4 To The Floor,” with powerful collaborations alongside Zen Mechanics and E-Jekt, plus remixed versions that give new life to some of the project’s core tracks.

Now, in 2025, I’ve found this set buried in my archives — and even today, it still pulses with relevance. This isn’t just a tribute. It’s a reconnection with a time when groove, minimalism, and psychedelia were perfectly balanced.

Hit play and step into that headspace again — or maybe, for the very first time.

Não era só sobre drops explosivos ou melodias pegajosas — era sobre texturas, inteligência rítmica, e um groove hipnótico que parecia conversar direto com a mente e o corpo ao mesmo tempo.

Em 10 de julho de 2011, gravei este set como um “The Best Of” — uma homenagem a esse universo particular criado por Adam Metcalfe, produtor sul-africano por trás do projeto. Numa época em que o psytrance estava cada vez mais acelerado e maximalista, Headroom entregava algo mais profundo — músicas que não apenas faziam dançar, mas também levavam o ouvinte a mergulhar numa verdadeira sinestesia.

São 11 faixas mixadas que exploram o lado mais técnico e visceral do psytrance — de “Artelligent” a “3-4 To The Floor”, passando por colaborações marcantes com Zen Mechanics e E-Jekt, além de versões remixadas que dão novos contornos a clássicos do projeto.

Agora, em 2025, ao reencontrar esse set nos meus arquivos, senti que ele ainda pulsa com força. É mais que um tributo: é um reencontro com uma fase em que groove, minimalismo e psicodelia estavam perfeitamente equilibrados.
