My first mix of the year is a love letter to one of, if not my favourite record label of all time, Strictly Rhythm.

The first record I ever played on my first pair of decks (Pro 150 belt drives) was Underground Solution - Luv Dancin', which is also the first track on this mix, though admittedly not that version. I don't know exactly what it was that drew me to Strictly but it became pretty much buy on sight, which had its own problems as no two releases were the same back then, it was all over the place.

This mix features a few you will most definitely know and a few you probably don't. I am pretty sure this will be volume one of a few but for now get stuck in to this one.

Enrique Jiménez, aka Big Pack, es el dueño del sello House Salad Music. Descubrió su amor por la música electrónica a mediados de los 90’s cuando asistía a fiestas de house y techno con DJ locales. A partir de entonces, comenzó su íntima historia de amor con la música house volviéndose fanático del sonido de Chicago, el jazzy house parisino y el techno de Detroit. La tarea de descubrir música se convirtió en un ciclo infinito y la colección de discos dió inicio.

Después de 11 años recorriendo pistas de baile como espectador e intentando ser dj en fiestas de la preparatoria y la universidad, fue hasta 2004 que adquirió sus primeras tornamesas technics 1200 y al tener una colección de vinilos suficiente, decidió aventurarse en el mundo del DJ de manera mas formal. Ahora, con algunos años de experiencia, Big Pack ha tocado en clubes importantes en México, así como en Canada, Estados Unidos y Costa Rica, siendo telonero para artistas como Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, Derrick Carter, Phil Weeks, Wally Callerio, Andrew Emil, JT Donaldson, Oliver Dollar, 1200 Warriors, Brett Hohnson, Arturo Garces, Marques Wyatt, entre otros.

Ahora forma parte de la programación semanal de Radio Webphre en Canada, ademas de manejar su propio podcast y sello, House Salad Music, con los mejores DJs de música house a nivel mundial. Convencido de la atemporalidad de la música, sus mezclas son un verdadero túnel del tiempo, donde toca clásicos combinados con lo más moderno.
