with the barrel against his head, he leaned forward and grabbed his drink from the bartender- some mix of brandy and coke, the same drink he’d ordered on the night she finally left. The vacant hum of the jukebox permeated the tension; this sound left the three men unexpectedly at ease. Sliding his finger along the hammer, Stash reaffirmed his intentions. 

she had an undeniable magnetism. As she frolicked and flailed about the city, smiling, attracting, Toh could barely contain himself. Watching her bounce from block to block, getting sidetracked, lost in a world of her own creation, they fell more. Or he fell more- it wasn’t important. 

“Leave it”. Toh placed his glass back on the table once he had taken a sip. The barrel pushed harder on his head. As he went to face Stash, the jacket resting on the adjacent chair dropped to the floor. In a small moment, Toh pushed the gun from Stash’s grip and sent it flying across the room.

the bartender stood shocked. “Leave it,” Toh said as he took another sip from his drink. “Take a seat”.
