Pulling vocal influences of the likes of Depeche Mode, Bowie and Type O Negative, and the heavy dance beats of Nine Inch Nails, and Nitzer Ebb into a cinematic aural onslaught, ÆON RINGS infectious and emotive songs are intense and refreshing breathe life into the alternative underground in electronic music. 'Fully Operational' is a heavy hitting and emotional song with a classic industrial and EBM palate of sounds combined with an 80’s Freestyle beat to give intensity as well as an infectious dance groove. We are proud to present “Masacre” , the new EP from mexican artist Datura Inoxia. The release contains five original tracks showcasing Datura Inoxia’s personal take on EBM, plus three remixes from Invalid User (Col), Efe Ce Ele (Col) and Spinal (Ch). Datura Inoxia “Toloache” was born as a dancefloor music project since 2022 performed by Christian Cassale, creating obscure atmospheres from Mexico City. Techno-EBM based in dark rhythms reflecting distorted feelings as love and loneliness, recording vocals and lyrics influenced by post punk.Masacre is based in a true story : During the year 1968 before the Olympic Games, on October 2nd, a crowd of students rises their voices against the repression of the Mexican government.During the movement, the Mexican government used police, military and paramilitary forces,killing 400 students in the plaza de las tres culturas in Mexico City, this event is known as “the
Tlatelolco massacre”.

One can imagine, listening to Kontravoid’s latest release, an alternate reality in which the cold-war played out to the background of drum machines and spectrographs, sinister audio technology manipulating a hidden frequency of the world’s unfoldings. Cameron Findlay returns to his masked alias for the first Kontravoid release since his debut self-titled album, years in the studio reap their rewards as the production on ‘Undone’ effortlessly cuts its way through hypnotic dance floor compositions.

‘Hold Nothing’ implements perfect song structure, with precise breaks, ferocious snare builds and simple repeated vocal phrases enveloping the main groove in symbiosis. A playful criminality sets the mood of the record here, one for pouted lips and furrowed brows on bunker, basement dance-floors.

‘The Last Thing’ is a straight forward dance floor stomper, arpeggiated synths batter the listener like blunt instruments, locking the body in a rhythmic cell, dissonant, steam whistle drones contrast with gurgling, radio transmission synths to shift the balance of the parts from uplifting wooze to downcast dance automaton.

‘Not Your Dream’ opens with a moment of primitive, science-lab techno, echo laden vocal jabs open the door to new-beat territory while the synth lines swing between pure rhythm and hypnogogic, alley-chase sound track, clocking in at seven and a half minutes, this is another track destined for synth-wave, dance floor greatness.

‘Undone’, the self-titled track from the release focuses on softer-synths and pads, still motivated by driving drums and percussion, the vision of a lone, masked figure emerges, cutting a path through mud and snow, factories half submerged in some destroyed, industrial miasma. Muttered vocals set a strict grounding to the piece, keeping the track from escaping into sentimentality, layers of cold synth melodies artfully weave between percussive crescendos as radio static crackles distantly.

As a natural companion to the record Schwefelgelb close with a remix of ‘Hold Nothing’, where the percussion is stripped back to its bare necessities and the synth parts are sliced down into even more pointed arpeggiations.

With his concrete approach to song writing and bear-trap grasp of dance floor composition, Kontravoid cements his reputation as one of the stand out voices in the current new-beat, synth wave scene.

The title 'Myth Machine' demonstrates all the richness of meanings that gives us words connected by genitive case: if you want, read it 'The Mythical Machine', or "The Machine Creating Myths".

Ambiguity here plays into our hands. This epic compilation by NEN Records is dedicated to myths as a ways of giving meaning to the suffocating meaningless reality. It is devoted to narratives, coherent or broken, that each of contributors create by their own lives. Perhaps, therefore, the release turned out to be so poly-stylistic, and there is nothing to be surprised at.

And of course, behind all these narratives, lurks the shadow of a huge and hardly perceived Machine, which severely cuts off the plot lines and - arbitrarily, it would seem, draws new ones.

Note: All tracks on the compilation are created on electronic machines of varying complexity, each of which, for sure, has a hidden desire to tell its own machine myth (and you can even distinguish it).

Velvet May returns on “ Tears On Waves” with the 4-tracker EP 
“Unknown Bodies”. This time he is joined by the live duo Years of Denial and the northern-irish artist Autumns who delivered their own interpretation and vision of the tracks in the B side.

"Unknown Bodies" tell us a story, a contorted story of lust and infernal gazes, yet divine that spread infamy and glory, grief and bliss. A story of lost inhibitions and sensations. A story of burning breasts. Now is the time when each flower fades away like incense and sounds and scents turn in the evening air.

The artist wants to show something. A natural desire which finds its fulfillment in the body, but that instantaneously dies at the end of the sensations. Sensations too much strong to last so much time. That’s exactly why he doesn’t never renounce to let go his inhibitions completely, having fear to be burnt, devoured and thrown in the deep end.

On the B side, the original tracks find a completely different vision, but especially a new light, leading the listener to a different path of the same perverse and twisted nature.

Years of Denial is the alter-face of French musician/DJ/ producer Jerome Tcherneyan and Czech performance artist/DJ Barkosina Hanusova. With the use of hardware combined with vocals and a plethora of dub devices, YOD are re-visiting the dark corner of Post Punk, Industrial music movement and rave culture. Its remix fully distorts the mood, introducing a new color and identity, juxtaposing acid sounds and sharp groove elements. The vocal has a new touch, and processed in another way, drags everything to it creating a vortex. Autumns is the solo project of Christian Donaghey, from Derry, Northern Ireland, an outlet for electronic postpunk with a lethal pulse. He delivered a train-shaped remix, making the bass line a key element for the whole track and finding the perfect “carpet” where to express in a powerful and straight groove, based on his beloved Roland 707.
