Area Z is proud to present our 11th tape, courtesy of Paris-based artist Théo Ferretti.

Coming from his gothic and post-punk roots, the project aims to fuse these influences with shades of electronic body music, martial techno and mystic industrial music, blending together darkness, poetry, existentialism and modern day brutalism.

Questioning the duality between the material and the immaterial, the past and the present, the sacred and the cursed, M I M’s sound is severe and transcendent while remaining danceable and cathartic.

Staring at the Void -his third EP- is the logical following to all of these topics, a dive into the abyss of the human subconscious through haunting basslines, rains of metal hits, screams of despair and liturgical chants.

Joining forces to Théo’s release, we have the pleasure to present three remixes of the EP, courtesy of England’s Randolph & Mortimer, our Toulouse's Arabian Panther and from UVB’s side-project Elements of Joy, which presents his first remix under this alias.

In Greek mythology, Tartarus (Ancient Greek: Τάρταρος) is the deep abyss that is used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked.

Premiere: Disco Mortale - Desert Drift [Khoinix]

SKOLA / DEBT is a new single by a recently formed collaboration project between @Shaknis & @Egzotikka. A raw story about a devastating breakup built around self-destruction, toxic relationship and mental gymnastics. It was recorded during the summer of 2022 using lead and bass guitars, Polivoks, Roland drum machines and other various analog instruments.

The collaborative process forced both producers to extend their skillset by exchanging experience which resulted in a fast, grungy, electro-sounding post punk track. Two producers with different backgrounds contributing to the emerging Lithuanian post-punk scene.

The release is accompanied by an impressive reduction woodcut print design by Nerijus Dubsta that perfectly renders the track into a visual piece of art.

In a world where every word holds consequences and every silence bears weight, the latter cannot be a privilege. As the world witnesses the horrors of war and its devastating impact on innocent lives, it's imperative to raise our voices against injustice wherever it occurs. It is our duty, especially being artists, to raise consciousness and awareness, challenge norms and narratives. 

We cannot allow ourselves to overlook the ongoing crisis in Palestine. This is not merely a matter of political stance; it's a test of our humanity. If we fail to speak out against the slaughter of innocent people and the genocide unfolding in Palestine, we fail on fundamental levels of compassion and justice. 

It's not about political affiliations; it's about standing on the righteous side and feeling the pulse of what's truly just. 

With the power of technology, we are constantly connected to the realities of conflict, yet to stay silence in the face of such atrocities is deadly. 

For that reason we brought 61 artists together to break this silence and stand in solidarity with Palestine, especially the innocent children. 

In the haunting echoes of silence, where cries for help are drowned by the thunder of war, our music becomes a beacon of hope, piercing through the darkness to remind the world of its humanity. 

Each beat, each note is a testament to resilience, a defiance against the oppressors, a symphony of solidarity resonating across borders. 

In the tapestry of chaos, our voices rise like a crescendo, demanding justice, demanding freedom and peace, demanding that the world listen and act. 

Techno, Noise, EBM, punk, and experimental music—genres rooted in the ethos of creating alternate societies and challenging terrestrial limitations—have always championed freedom of expression. Yet, the contemporary landscape feels tainted by commodification, censorship, and the silencing of marginalized voices. This betrayal of the essence cannot be tolerated. 

Our music is a rebellion, a revolution of sound, breaking chains of apathy and indifference, igniting flames of empathy and action.We are not just musicians; we are storytellers of the silenced, architects of dreams, weaving melodies of resistance and resilience. 

Solidarity must be a foundational principle within our (sub-)culture. True freedom can only be achieved when all are liberated. Music, as a universal language, transcends boundaries and reminds us that every life is sacred.

We're thrilled to announce our upcoming charity project, VA 002 compilation, dedicated to supporting Palestinian children relief and medical aid. This initiative brings together 61 unique tracks from a diverse range of artists. “Mirror Glaze Lavish” is Marc’s latest effort in trying to depict his cynical and disillusioned view of the present-day music scene, seen through a sonic magnifier that emphasizes its greatest controversies, by juxtaposing different electronic languages as a challenge to the current levelling artistic trends. The artist personality is nullified, standardized to a state of placid non-critical thinking. Everyday’s emptiness emerges as the structure of reality and only the cracks in it still lead to life. “Great souls suffer in silence”, once said Friedrich Schiller, but what if silence becomes an audible, danceable image? As if all these electro cuts, differently permeated with a balanced mix of playful darkness, were populated by eerie animals that cannot find peace with their habitat and keep dancing relentlessly until the very end of their miserable existence. Seen in this context, each of Marc’s tracks must be interpreted as an irreverent and poignant act of self-assertion vis-à-vis his contemporaries. Morah’s reinterpretation of “Celexxa” adds value to the original track, taking us for a dirty ride on a psycho-electro-charged rollercoaster.
