 A piano/rock ballard that I wrote for my GCSE music assignment and recorded with my classic rock band Public Outcry. It's not the best quality, but I really like the song and I hope you guys will too! We recorded it in about 5 takes using just a laptop/microphone and garage band I think it was!

Original lyrical credit goes to Matthew Heath, our singer, I just tweaked/changed them ...to fit with the music I wanted. 

The basic theme of the song was dictated by the project brief, but fortunately the lyrics were pretty much on a similar line anyway. The song is called The Drifter, and is about a homeless man and his outlook on the world.

So, yeah, I really hope you'll listen and comment, whether good or bad! If I get enough liking of it, I may press ahead with a plan to professionally record it with some selected musicians who are interested, and sell the song for a charity, possibly in aid of the homeless. Again, thoughts on this would be great!

Based in Chester, UK, Matthew Simon Fletcher (Fletch) is a musician, songwriter/composer, and arranger. Specialising in the heavy metal genres, along with orchestral and electronic music and soundscapes. With over fifteen years of experience as a member of bands such as Public Outcry, The Nottingjam Orchestra, Curse Of Dawn and Disconnected Souls, he has recently started to promote himself as a freelance collaborator and breached out into other areas such as soundscaping and music production.
