Returning to Soulvent after their successful ‘Cold Shoulder’ EP in 2024, Francesco and Alessandro, better known as Invadhertz, commence yet another Extended Player project on the label. The first offering from the forthcoming ‘Styx EP’, serves as a suitable reminder that the Italian virtuosos really can bring the tumultuously techy liquid vibes, but deep down, you knew that already.

'Deep Down’ starts with minimal hats and looming atmospherics. The filtered drums and tease of a vocal sample in the intro cannot prepare you for the menacing bassline that is to arrive with the drop. Crisp drums keep the tempo and allow the guttural bass notes to do all the work. This track will no doubt feature in many a set, down in the depths of the dance.

You don’t have to pretend you can wait any longer for this track, which will be out in all good stores on 17th January 2025.

The first single from Brain's brand new 'Trastorno EP' on Sofa Sound Bristol is a fully catchy groover alongside the unmistakable vocals of Manchester's Vispera.

"Trastorno EP" is a bold exploration of disorder and resilience, drawing from the raw intensity of punk and the relentless rhythms of drum and bass. The title, rooted in the Spanish word for "disorder," reflects the chaos of modern existence—psychological struggles, societal disarray, and the turbulence of identity in a fractured world.

The EP channels the artist’s roots, weaving cultural heritage into the sonic landscape. Traditional Latin American rhythms and emotional textures subtly emerge, reimagined through a punk-inspired lens of defiance and individuality. While the cryptic title may initially evoke images of James Bond's 1989 film, 'Licence to Kill,' it's actually the iconic Nintendo 64 game, 'Goldeneye 007,' that served as the true inspiration. Drawing heavily from the game's distinct soundscapes and atmospheric textures, Minor Forms and Amoss have masterfully sampled and reimagined these elements, crafting a track that perfectly captures the thrilling and enigmatic vibe of the legendary game.
