Live from the spectacular Desert Hearts 1 Year Anniversary at La Jolla Indian Reservation in Southern California, this set weaves deep house and tech house over 3 hours plus from 9pm to a little past midnight on the closing night of the festival.

It was an honor to play such an amazing event!  Thanks to the Desert Hearts crew - Kristoff, Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Matt (Marbs), David (Porkchop), Ryan (Deep Jesus), and what must have been 100+ volunteers to make the party all that it was.  I don't think I've ever seen so much art at an event, super impressive feel and vibe around all the art pieces and deco elements present.  Everyone was buzzing about it.  Such excellent organization and signage everywhere, it was really a sight to behold.  Many people were shocked by the high level of production at this event and the only reason I wasn't is that I have been to the 2 prior Desert Hearts events and also collaborated twice with the crew as "Tropical Hearts" - so... I had a feeling about this one :)  My expectations were high, and were still exceeded...

Last I want to thank the DH crew for letting me extend my set in Treavor's absence (his flight from Canada was cancelled) rather than filling in with someone not on the lineup.  I am biased of course but I believe you made the right call :)

Vielfalt der Kulturen

Unsere Erde ist bevölkert von einer Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Ethnien. Die Gruppenzugehörigkeit entsteht durch eine gemeinsam getragene und gelebte Identität. Diese setzt sich aus geteilten Werten, Normen und spezifischen Eigenarten zusammen. Allgemein spricht man von einer Kultur oder einem Kulturkreis.
Jede dieser Kulturen ist im ihrem Dasein etwas ganz besonderes und höchst individuelles. Die kulturellen Unterschiede beginnen bei der Auswahl und Zubereitung von Speisen und Getränken und Enden bei den semantischen Feinheiten der Sprachen. 
Vor allem während eines längeren Auslandsaufenthaltes kommt unsereins mit Menschen, einer anderen kulturellen Prägung in Kontakt. In der Kommunikation mit diesen Zeitgenossen gewinnt man sowohl grundlegende Erkenntnisse über die Kultur des Gegenübers, als auch über die eigene. Durch den interkulturellen Austausch begreift man, wie verschieden die Nationalitäten dieser Welt sind. ADoch wie sehr sich im Kern alle gleichen. 
Häufig sind es die kleinen Dinge, an denen man die Gemeinsamkeiten erkennt. Egal aus welchem Land jemand stammt, kaum einer wird ein gutes Stück Käse schmähen. Im Restaurant schätzt man eine große Portion auf dem Teller und eine freundliche Bedienung. Woher er oder sie auch kommen mag, alle lieben die Sonne das Meer. Jeder hängt bei Langeweile vor dem Smartphone und aus der Kompetenz eine Landkarte zu lesen, wurde die Standortsuche über Google Maps. Die Menschen dieser Erde wünschen sich Anerkennung, Liebe und ein behagliches Zuhause.
Reisen öffnet den Geist und erweitert den Horizont. Durch eine solche Erfahrung wirft man entweder seine Weltanschauung über Bord oder die Ansichten und das Mindset werden gestärkt und gefestigt. Am Ende des Tages wird man mit seinen Vorurteilen konfrontiert und räumt mit seinen Klischees auf. Die Vielfalt der Kulturen ist ein Reichtum und Segen. Jeder kann seine Fähigkeiten und Stärken zum Kollektiv beisteuern, sei es nun Mut, Güte oder Humor. In der Summe tragen all diese Potenziale zur einer beseelten und schönen Welt bei.

   She is also a profound producer with stellar releases on esteemed imprints like Akbal Music, Bar25, Sirin, Klassified, Akasha (MX), LNKDN, & Desert Hut. This has also resulted in her being remixed by top talents like Parallells, Nhar, Mihai Popoviciu, Birds Of Mind, Monkey Brothers, and also collaboration tracks with Robbie Akbal.
   She’s most recently started her very own weekly radio show “Melodia” on Pure Ibiza Radio on Monday at 5pm, which offers listeners the perfect opportunity to listen to her chilled and relaxing DJ sets, and are an excellent platform to keep in touch with Veronika and her future releases. Now predominantly based in London, she can often be found behind the decks at such London hotspots as the Mandrake Hotel, IT, E1. 

Veronika is an artist very much at the forefront of the scene right now, and one with many successful and exciting years ahead.
