This was played on BBC Upload in 2021 and I was delighted! Here is what the audio is about.
I spent some of the first lockdown in March 2020 collecting audio when out on walks and on my commute to the shop where I was working for our Mail Order department. I wrote the poem inspired on the field recordings and imagined how birds might feel having the streets to themselves. The poem is meant to be listened to as it combines both words and sounds of a unique time.
