Flight Machine writes and records original music in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Initial practices began in Jon’s living room during the summer of 2012. Each Monday night, the band cleared the living room of the old chair, couch, and coffee table, set up their gear, stumbled through a few half-baked songs for Wally the dog, and then set the living room back up the way it was. It went on like this for a few months until Lance Cole won a raffle for 8 free studio hours at EastHall Recording. Things escalated quickly when the group chose a band name, threw together some songs, entered the studio, and recorded Revenge of the Hill People (2012). Soon afterwards, the band rented a proper practice studio, gigged around in Fayetteville and Little Rock, and began work on their first full-length album It's The Future(2015). Flight Machine is typically known for a combination of coy, often upbeat arrangements and quirky, heart-felt lyrics. Flight Machine has played Legacy Blues, The Stolen Glass, the Smoke & Barrel Tavern, Ryleigh’s, Vino’s, Stickyz, Stone’s Throw Brewing Block Party, and Fayetteville’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival on the Square.
