"During the pandemic I ended up moving to a country far from home and recently when I went to visit my family, it was just the best feeling!  The Love from family and friends, the laughter, the deep conversation and connecting after this weird time triggered the nostalgia in me.  Inspired by this and honoring my roots and a little frustrated by the next wave of lockdown, I am bringing a dance floor vibe so you won’t have to miss a nice dance during Holiday season.

The colourful nomad, Jose Noventa, is a wild spirit and an old soul.  Carved through the natural tendency to see beyond the superficial layers of life. The punky attitude and playful gaze with which he roams through the many places he calls home, provide smiles wherever he lands. Born as a creator from his heart, music is one of his many tools to hit you, right in yours.  Sculpting his broad musical background into a spiritual, deep, atypical, underground heartswing. Jose materializes his life experiences through crafting electronic music, building solid creative structures and connecting strong hearted people globally.  Carrying out his energy by deejaying for some of the biggest festivals in the world and establishing intimate connections at small get-togethers. Creative collectives globally call him family, for he ties the bonds firm. Roaming for records and vinyl is his opium, while learning and studying from computers and synthesizers ignite the musical scholar in him. Spending many days in music studios, he leaves aside the fashion and trends, creating a sound influenced by, but not exclusively; house, deep house, disco, downtempo, electronica, world music, hip-hop, soul, funk and dub.

Another year has gone by in the blink of an eye and we couldn't be more grateful for all your support, amazing contributions to our podcast series and for the incredibe releases of befriended artists! In order to wrap this year's podcast series up in style, we invited a true gem of Germany's electronic music scene to take over December's episode and provide you with fresh energy to slide into the new year: Sarah Wild.

Once an infamous host for underground raves in Berlin, Sarah Wild is now a DJ and producer talent from Berlin. Her energetic sets oscillate between acid basslines and piano elements. Sarah has already released on Permanent Vacations, Feines Tier and her own label Midnight Operators.

When she was a girl her father took her on tour with his surf-rock band. She grew up hanging out in backstages of clubs and venues all around Europe. Not only through this first touring experience Sarah was always surrounded by music. She learned saxophone and piano supported by her grandmother who is also a singing teacher. All her youth Sarah played in bands and was part of several jazz projects. Also her passion for electronic dance music developed at this time. Sarah was born and raised in Jena, a former east-German city who became popular for its delicate scene of electronic music. She quickly became part of it as a dancer and also started her first little projects as an artist. Sarah Wild started her solo project in 2016 and has been touring in Europe, Mexico, Panama, Guatemala and the USA.

We say thank you to Sarah for this awesome podcast and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. With excitement, we are looking forward to 2024, which will mark the 5th anniversary of our label.

Deep Autumn 3

Victor Kiktenko, known by his stage name Module One, is a Russian electronic music producer and DJ. Being a teenager he travels to the US as a student and presents his radio show Emotions on WMRS 107.7FM (Monticello, IN) where he plays all kinds of modern electronic music. After this experience his DJing career launches in his home country. Module One is a project dedicated specially to abstract Electronica, Techno and House music as well as Ambient and Dub Techno. Right now Victor works on his Module One productions that have gained a lot of interest from the side of his colleagues and label owners. The past releases include an album on Detroit Underground (US), EPs on Modular Expansion (GR), Labrynth (US), Modelhart (Norway), Motech (US), Thema (DE), Coincidence (BE) as well as tracks for various compilations on labels like Traum, Bullet:Dodge. The geography of gigs includes sets in Tresor (Berlin, DE), Griessmuehle (Berlin) and leading Russian techno events from Monasterio, BNF, m_division.

Calm plus harmony creates pressure and power. When it comes to music, especially club music, there's a lot of truth in this phrase. Sous Sol's music is generated by two individuals, Teo and Lukas, who are putting their entire personalities into their art.

At the young age of six, Teo learned to play the piano, which later inspired over a decade of DJing. Lukas first found his love for DJing in 1996 and has since incorporated other sounds into his repertoire, including 12 years experience with the saxophone. Both artists have used their musical backgrounds to excel in creating unique tracks.

For the last two years the dynamic duo has been working hard in the studio. Since, they’ve seen a rapid increase in their fan base and demand for their music from both, local and foreign clubs alike, which leads to shows at Kater Blau, Wilde Renate, Plötzlich am Meer and “Mir Dir Festival” in Berlin for example. In Switzerland Sous Sol are veterans mixing music and can frequently be heard at popular club such as Nordstern and Hinterhof in Basel, Hive, Supermarket, Revier or Klaus in Zurich (Zurich), as well as at ROK and Uferlos in their hometown Lucerne.

Their releases have been published on imprints like Gorge's Re:fresh Your Mind and on Mihai Popoviciu's Cyclic Records. Additional stations include: What Happens, Bondage Music, Hive Audio and Marcus Meinhardt's Heinz Music.
Lukas is also the manager of the club Uferlos in Lucerne, which gives him a good look behind the scenes look.

Overall, Teo and Lukas are true club musicians who know their turntables like the back of their hands and as they never stop exploring the musical world they live in, the duo is successful in creating fresh new music.

Hive Corona Lockdown Podcast Nr18 - Sous Sol

I started listening to electronic music many bpm’s ago. I took part in a rave first time in the late 90’s, when clothes were more colorful and hairdos looked like modern spaceships. At first I found techno and trance, then progressive house and deep house came along. Nowadays my taste of music is influenced from all of those genres. I started to play records because I wanted to give people possibility to experience that magical feeling with the music when you forget time and place, when neither the past, nor the future exists. I want my gigs to be smooth, continuous journeys from deep hypnotic soundscapes to body moving tech beats.
So now, go listen my recorded sets or come hear me play live, anyway I’m better at dj:ing than in writing bios ;)
