INTERVIEW WITH FLINT ON "INTERSTITIAL"

What inspired you on this record?
"Right, well I wanted to create a new style, a new sound that never existed before. I wanted to turn the world upside down. Right, you know that's what my whole message with this album was."

Since this album was released, there's been a noticeable shift in the music industry. Do you think big names are trying to catch onto your style?
"Right, (haha), you know Angela it's quite funny you mention that. I've had many big names reach out to me since Interstitial came out. Drake, Lil Wayne, Robin Thicke among the most noticeable, and I turned them all down. Look, I don't want these clowns trying to change my style. The sheep are always going to be scared of the wolf, they can copy my style all they want. Good luck."

What are some of your musical influences?
"Right, I mean I grew up listening to all the 90's rap. East kings like BIG, Nas, and of course the way of the WU. Then out west you know N.W.A. of course. I feel like I bring a lot of different musical styles into my art. Heavy metal, funk, classical, grunge, and of course goth rock , all of these from countless other bands."

Can you talk about KTF (Kill The Feeling) at all? Where do you stand right now with the group?
"Right, I mean look there's no sense in trying to change the past. We had a good run, all the live shows and studio songs I made with those boys are something I'll never forget."

Any possibility of a KTF reunion?
"Let's just say we've got a couple things cooking."

One last question for you Flint, what would you say to aspiring rappers?
"Right, you just gotta find your style and run with it. Don't try to sound like anyone else, your sound and your style is the most unique thing you have."
