MIST006 - V/A - My Own Mirror To Stay

Lyon-based producer Sindh takes listeners on a ravishing sonic voyage with his track 'Qalat,' featured in the upcoming 'Mers' compilation from the French record label and community RDG Tribe. This mesmerizing composition showcases Sidnh's masterful ability to craft a hypnotic half-step journey that effortlessly immerses the listener into a realm of pulsating rhythms and enigmatic atmospheres.

At the core of 'Qalat' lies a low-slung kick drum, providing a solid foundation for the track's momentum. Accompanying this foundation is a meticulously crafted percussive sequence that drives the rhythm forward with its intricate patterns and rhythmic complexity. Sindh skillfully weaves layers of percussive elements, creating a rich and textured sonic tapestry that is as captivating as infectious.

A high-pitched synth sequence gracefully floating in the background adds an air of mystery and intrigue to the composition. This ethereal melody serves as a mesmerizing counterpoint to the rhythmic elements, casting a spell of curiosity and fascination over the listener. The synergy between the driving percussive elements and the enigmatic synth sequence creates a sonic landscape that is simultaneously dark and uplifting, evoking a sense of exploration and introspection.

'Mers' compilation, featuring Sindh's entrancing track 'Qalat,' is scheduled for release on May 26, offering a diverse selection of cutting-edge electronic music by some of the usual suspects here at Delayed, like Estrato Aurora, Owl, Javier Marimon, Simone Bauer, Octo Aeterna and Artos Eleven just to name a few.

German raised and Brighton-based producer https://soundcloud.com/caldera-caldera presents "Casual Transcendence EP" on Flippen Bits, blending his signature groove-oriented sound with the trippy essence of the label.

The EP opens with the title track, "Casual Transcendence," setting a solid groove foundation and infusing it with a bouncy acid bass line and liquidy pads. "Ground Miles" adds hazy, pitch-shifted vocals to Caldera's established style, creating an entrancing blend of sounds. "Strange Brew" takes listeners on a cosmic journey with sizzling hi-hats, echoing bird songs, and an irresistible groove that makes time fly. Closing the EP is "Styte," a meditative percussion jam that mesmerizes with its intricate rhythms and elusive meter.

Delsin’s Mantis series continues to platform hybridised variations on modernist soundsystem music with the arrival of RVSHES, the production partnership from Logos (James Parker) and DB1 (Dylan Brownsword). Both artists have production credits on respected platforms such as Hidden Hawaii, Nullpunkt, Tectonic and The Death Of Rave and more than a few collaborations to their name. As RVSHES they’ve also released on re:st, and now their precision-tooled drum pressure is being applied to six exacting studies in rig-ready rhythm and repetition. 

There’s a spartan, cyclical nature to the work Parker and Brownsword carry out, setting up a sturdy beat set to non-standard timings and teasing it out over an extended run time, but they also exercise a keen sense of infinitesimal progression, edging their tracks past DJ tool territory into a more captivating headspace. Maintaining the immersive atmospherics of the Mantis series to date, theirs is a sharply focused sound which sits at the intersection of tough minimal techno and polyrhythmic broken beat, positively geared towards DJs favouring inventive building blocks in their sets.

The Kaipos EP drifts from ritualistic half tempo drums into deep warping techno and tripped out drones, illustrating Vardae’s unique genre-breaking approach to crafting powerful percussive entrancers for headphones and dancefloor.

A fitting prelude to the OODA project, conceived to explore polyrhythmic techno, bass and ambient experiments in all forms.

The release is inspired by the astronomical phenomenon of gamma rays, the most energetic form of electromagnetic radiation. Gamma ray bursts are associated with the core collapse of massive stars leading to the formation of a black hole or a neutron star, which releases a tremendous amount of energy, outshining entire galaxies for brief seconds.
