Leandro has his Radio show "In My House Sessions" once a month in D3ep radio network dedicated to the new garage house movement and his own label "Stay Groove Records".

The first of the live recordings to be released from Soak presents FAC51 Hacienda Open Air's special day party at Canvas Yard, with Greg Wilson's full set which typically takes in exclusive edits and versions of many classic tracks featuring The Orb, Orbital and the excellent Massive Attack.

The set was recorded 13:30pm until 15:00pm and was perfect while the venue was filling up.

Respect to the artists sampled on this track, they are as follows.... The Zombies: ´Time of the Season´... From 1968, I love this sound, they did ´She´s not there´ as well. I guess anyone that grew up in Britain or America in the 60s or 70s have heard The Zombies..... I used parts of Harlequin Fours: ´Set it Off´in the percussion. It´s possibly my favourite OldSkool House Tune, I chopped it up a bit and rearranged it to try to match the groove of the Zombies´samples, wasn´t easy. I used Serato to record the scratches and effects, then added some virtual synth and mixed it on Albleton.  Served up with love. x

My heartfelt condolences to all that knew her. She's with Jah.

Big respect to the artists sampled in this track, the main sample is Dee Patern: ´Who´s The Badman´. I assume the title to be interogative although there isn´t any question mark. If it is the case that the title is a question, then this is a perfect example of a question that answers itself. An OldSkooL Rave classic. Although not so OldSkool as it was released in 1992 but definately had an OldSkool feel to it. I can´t begin to tell you the memories and stories I have relating to this tune. Maybe one day I´ll write a book dedicated to my memories of 'Who's the badman' by Dee Patern..... If you haven´t heard it already. Check it out! 
Mixing this made me consider how perceptions change over the years. With the trippy synth stabs and Hip-hop beats this mix could´ve been categoriesed as ´hardcore´ back in the days. Nowadays it wouldn't be considered to be 'hardcore'..... Btw, don´t get me wrong, I don´t give a monkey´s uncle about musical categories. Music is music. There are really only 2 categories; music you like and music you don´t like. 
Just to clarify to any listeners reading this that might not fully understand the lingo spawned from this culture. A lot of misconceptions relating to the music and culture stem from a basic missinterpretation of the language. Thus, to put the record straight,  you don´t have to be ´Bad´to be a a ´Badman´or to use a gender neutral term, ´Badass´. You don´t have to be hard to be ´Hardcore´ and you don´t have to be old to be ´OldSkool´.
True OldSkool Hedz reading this will know where the beats came from. Indeed I could write another book about my memories of this tune. It is of course Micheal Viner´s Incredible Bongo Band: ´Apache´. One of the blueprints of Hip-Hop and modern dance music in general. Released in 1972. It's drum break is widely reported to be one the 1st Break beats ever mixed by a Dj, the other being from James Brown's 'Give it up turn it loose', although many would argue that the 1st Dj mix/live performance on record took place years before that in the 1960s. That's how old 'OldSkool' music and culture is. I'm not even that old, I was born in 1973.

I believe that we´re all born with a special gift or gifts, the hard part is figuring out what that is and having the courage to follow it and pursue it. Personally I have been blessed with several gifts but my most valued ones are the gifts of perseverance, drive and the need to create and achieve, the need to move forward no matter what because those gifts are the ones that make everything else possible. I have been so fortunate to find that in myself. I know not all of us are this fortunate but in these times of fear, doubt, questions and uncertainty I want to urge you to find those things within yourselves. I am aware that its not easy and you will meet lots of negativity and naysayers and they´ll be many times which it seems pointless and hopeless, BELIEVE me I know, but you must find the positive within you! cause despite everything else its the one true thing that truly belongs to you and they cant take away from you and the only true way to get through.
This one is called "The freaks". In these weird times need I say why? lol.                                 I started this set with my personal version of a track i did some years ago called "The freaks come out of nowhere". (Please make sure youre sound is in Stereo and LOUD).  Allow me to share a cool story with you: So a few years ago I´m in Miami for the conference and Victor (Calderone) and I are playing together at Crobar, so when I ended Vic is about to come on and he shuts down the room in dramatic fashion and turns to me and says "watch this!" Now mind you I had given the track to Vic about 6 months earlier but I had no idea he and the other NY jocks were apparently bangin it as much as they were and I had never heard another DJ play it out. Little did I know how big the track was in NY. So Vic starts the track and when the vocal came in the crowd absolutely exploded, I mean it was so strong it was overwhelming. It was like hearing the crowd roar when your favorite team scores a goal but you werent paying attention so it surprises you, I swear I was taken back. So Vic turns to me and says "thats what you do bro". What a cool moment. Thanks Vic for that memory ;)
So call a friend or two or three, crack open the wine and crank up the beats and makes some cool memories of your own, I mean really? what else is there to do but LIVE and ENJOY!
