Our debut set for "plants and dance" at the herbaceous Howler Bar Melbourne. We were delighted to test-run the new L'Acoustics Sound System and custom DJ booth with our deep and dreamy sounds.

Opening with Clair de Lune from the recently released Storm EP by the amazing power duo, Double Touch! Also includes luscious tracks by Armen Miran, Volen Sentir, Somelee, Flowers On Monday and Missfeat. A few remixes thrown in for the crowd!

We are excited to introduce each one of the Floating Dreams DJs over the next few months. 

First up, it’s Laik Tan…

A classically trained violinist and self-taught guitarist, Laik started DJing in 2002. Cutting his teeth on progressive house and breakbeat in the 2000s, his taste has refined over the years to slower beats and emotive melodies.

Laik’s sets explore the organic, deep and melodic side of house, inspired by artists such as M.O.S, Deek That, Rigooni, CRi and Jody Wisternoff.

He has residencies at Music Room Melbourne and Arbory Afloat and in 2022, supported Sebastian Leger [All Day I Dream], Martin Roth [Anjunadeep] and Double Touch [All Day I Dream/TRYBESof].

Matt Saz’s sets are dreamy, deep & emotional. His discovery of electronic music back in circa 2006 was thanks to the iconic Ministry of Sound compliations. From these early years of EDM he has since developed a love (or maybe obsession?) with life in the clouds (organic house) and all the labels associated, such as All Day I Dream, TRYBESof, Tale & Tone, Shanti Moscow Radio. 

Matt’s favourite artists include Volen Sentir, Nohan, Madraas, MissFeat, Mass Digital, Amonita, George X, Double Touch, VieL, Death on the Balcony.

Introducing the next member of the Floating Dreams crew..

Vega (AU) is a longtime electronic music enthusiast, hailing from Melbourne, Australia. His sound is a blend of deep grooves, blissful organic house fused with driving progressive and often with afro-melodic and tribal elements in order to create a worldly journey for his listener. He takes great influence from labels including All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Amulanga, The Soundgarden, 3rd Avenue, Be Adult Music, The Purr and Meanwhile Recordings, and is naturally drawn to track selections that evoke an emotive and atmospheric tone. 

Vega (AU) has appeared as guest mixer on numerous radio and streaming hosts including AATM Club Radio [UK], Radio Deep [UK], Bondi Radio [AUS] and Sinergia [SVN], as well as gaining monthly residencies at some of Melbourne's most popular bar offerings including the Ibiza themed 'Arbory Afloat' and the intimate 'Music Room' at HER Bar as a member of @floatingdreamsmusic, where he has had the opportunity to play alongside some industry greats including Sébastien Léger, Double Touch [All Day I Dream], Weird Sounding Dude [Anjunadeep / The Soundarden], GMJ & Matter [Meanwhile Recordings], Kasey Taylor [Vapour Recordings, Sudbeat].

Next up from the Floating Dreams tribe is Nick Bennett…

Nick’s passion for electronic music was set in motion decades ago after seeing Dimitri from Paris behind the decks. Techno fast became Nick’s genre of choice in the early days of spinning vinyl inspired by the likes of Jeff Mills and Derrick May. Over time, Nick’s tastes have mellowed, now opting for tunes from organic and deep house labels such as All Day I Dream, Anjundeep, Shanti Radio, Melody of the Soul, RYNTH and The Purr.

In recent years, Nick has been pivotal in bringing to Melbourne some of the biggest names in organic house such as Sébastien Léger [All Day I Dream / Lost Miracle], Double Touch [All Day I Dream, TRYBESof], Fede Pals [3rd Avenue; The Purr] and Jim Rider [All Day I Dream].

In addition to these artists, Nick has supported Kasey Taylor & Karl Pilbrow [Sudbeat], James Beetham [Late Night Music], DJ Koze [Pampa Records], Gerd Janson [Running Back, DE], Weird Sounding Dude [Anjunadeep / The Soundgarden], Dosem [Anjunadeep] and Martin Roth [Anjunadeep].

Last but not least in the Floating Dreams crew is Nat...

Nat has been playing music since the mid-nineties, initially as lead guitarist in a punk band as a young teen in Sydney. The Global Underground compilations exposed Nat to the likes of big-name progressive DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Darren Emerson, Dave Seaman, Sander Kleinenberg, Way Out West and Deep Dish, and Nat swapped the electric guitar for a set of decks in her late teens. 

Moving to Melbourne in the early 2000’s cemented her passion for the electronic music scene and DJing. By then she had a healthy vinyl addiction and was a fan of record labels such as Bedrock, Renaissance, Baroque, Platipus, Yoshitoshi and dabbled in breaks, through the sounds of Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts and Stanton Warriors.

These early influences of progressive house and breakbeat still inspire her deep and organic house sets today. Nat also likes to showcase the work of female producers/DJs in her mixes, and this latest one includes tracks from Amonita, Dodeca, Forty Cats and Double Touch alongside faves such as Somelee, Marley Hughes and Mass Digital.

The People’s Dance Collective is a producer/DJ that calls St Kilda, Australia home. 

After a history of organising renegade parties, like the illegal festival "Beach Weekender" and vinyl only nights, The PDC spent the summer of 2022/2023 DJing at Melbourne's floating oasis nightclub, ATET, brainchild of Jake Hughes. It was the perfect opportunity to road test his growing repertoire of PDC productions. Over the summer he supported some pretty big names including DJ Tennis, John Course, Donald's House and Boogs. 

The PDC also runs the mix series Deep House Melbourne and has recently released an italo number on The Journey's label "Ugenius". 

The PDC is inspired by the euphoria of trance, the rugged nature of electro, and the deep emotional vibes of house. His sets are energetic journeys into forgotten gems and future classics. He inhabits a space where throwback deep house bombs sit comfortably with melodic, organic and afro house. 

An avid wax enthusiast, The PDC sees vinyl records as the heritage of the spirit of house music, to be rediscovered and shared at intimate and dusty parties. The process of stumbling on a sound outside the algorithm driven space of the world wide cyber cloud keeps the glowing embers of countless bygone underground scenes alive.

Born and raised in the historic city of Buenos Aires, Fede Pals is a progressive house DJ and producer currently based in the city of Mallorca. Fede has been honing his DJ skills for several years, not only in his hometown but also in countries as diverse as Italy, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.
