Eye Teeth, the new techno sub label of Interdimensional Transmissions, launches with an EP from Israel Vines. We started this sub label as way of exploring pure and experimental techno in an entirely contemporary context (where IT often uses historical lenses and a wider musical context). This is Techno from Detroit and America, not Detroit Techno. We would like to see American Techno evolve, and this new sub label is an attempt to be a catalyst in that arena.

We launch this label with what we consider to be an anthem, “WWKD.” This is a special sound system Techno and Bass hybrid that works in many contexts. It has the funk but is black leather tough. The B Side features some Deep Techno and Ambient tone exploration.

We will follow this EP with another EP from Israel featuring new material alongside remixes from Silent Servant and BMG. This EP was mixed with the help of Juan Mendez.

Israel Vines is a from literally everywhere, having spent formative rave years in Detroit, working at Gramophone in Chicago, and now living and working in Los Angeles. He made an impact with his label Borrowed Language, doing a number of split EPs and collaborations with Jeff Pietro, where a number of the highlights featured a strange combination of thunderous Birmingham Techno and modern Bass Music. He is currently collaborating with another Chicago artist, Kit Geary as KGIV.

A four track introduction to an already expansive sound, Arc relates as much to the boundary pushing experimentation of the likes of Autechre or Sabres of Paradise as it does to any open minded, contemporary dancefloor.

As a label, Keysound Recordings occupy an interesting space. They exist at an intersection between rave and murkiness, cutting edge sounds of the underground and nostalgia.

Having cut his teeth in the 00's as the Xerox Soundsystem, Ireland's Desmond McGouran (who makes "music your mum and dad won't like") has been responsible for a strings of releases on Hervé's Cheap Thrills and Skint. Now being ushered into the Keysound fold, @Detboi's latest four-tracker, 'Scatter EP', takes junglist breaks to new futuristic heights via vocal chops and lightning fast percussion.

South Florida's very own J. Albert and Person of Interest come together for Exotic Dance Records on this four-track 12" of certified heat! A1 cuts to the chase with the soul-inflected number "Thank You for Believing in Me": a slapping house beat carries a soaring vocal refrain through rattling percussion and fretless bass. A2 shifts into sexier territory, as an enticing brass motif dances on top of titillating pulses, punchy breakbeats and an authoritative bounce. On the flipside, Person of Interest's homegrown "Pompano Acid" trades melodious acid with sun-soaked oscillating piano stabs on top of a shuffled boom-bap garage rhythm. B2 track "Still" made an appearance in last year's Bronze/Palace Paramount video and here provides a nice finisher to Exotic Dance's inaugural 12".
