New piece I debuted at a recent live set in ATL and then finished in the studio. Most likely forthcoming on a new VLSC experimental and ambient music comp. Chords are Cherry Audio Eight Voice run through amp sims and heavily saturated Valhalla shimmer verb, other voice is the Make Noise DPO with lots of lovely hard synced FM and waveshaping through the ModDemix and QMMG. Inner Orbits

Jungle tune based on the classic Cutty Ranks "Limb By Limb" vocal. All the drums are Helicopter and Amen breaks, bass is an 808 sub, pad is a DW-8000 sample in the TAL Sampler, lead is Cherry Audio Dreamsynth, Rhodes is Kontakt Mk. 1, and the screetchy sax like bit is the vocal gettin Flohrified in a number of ways. Limbic Nonsense

Originally premiered a version of this during a VLSC Twitch Livestream as part of an audiovisual collaboration with my friend Slimebubble alongside several other of my still unreleased pieces all paired with their original video art. Photo for this is a screenshot from the video for this piece, although the version I just uploaded is different from the one the video was set to because it is generative so every time I open the Ableton project file its a little different. The only voice here is Madrona Labs Kaivo, running through a bunch of cascaded Valhalla Delays of different lengths and some reverb, saturation and tape sims.

Night In August

I have been trying to alternate between more experimental and ambient uploads and more club oriented beat tracks. This tune is a nice middle ground, inspired by artists like Skee Mask and Djrum. The main chime type sound is a Cherry Audio Dreamsynth patch, and the more lush reversed stuff is the same sound going through a heavily modulated Pitch Hack, Valhalla Delay, and a morph filter with an LFO on the morph. I originally named the track Buggin based on the break I used but renamed it after I saw the art that The Glad Scientist generated for it.

The result of some experiments with the TAL Sampler and heavily processing a basic upright piano loop. The art is my first attempt at using Dall-E to generate visual art from a text prompt. Can't tell if its the opening of a world or its collapsing in on itself.

Fenestration

Starting to explore microtonal possibilities with the Max for Live microtuner device. Started out with some simple diatonic explorations and ended up returning to Ptolemy's Intense Diatonic scale which I had previously used as part of my Cartesian Meditations series of Eurorack videos on my YouTube channel. Back then I just looked up the hz of the notes in the scale and used the unquantized outputs from Rene and tuned each step manually. Microtuner makes it way easier and I am looking forward to exploring more complex xenharmonic scales. The other exciting thing about doing microtonal stuff in Ableton is that I can explore polyphony much more easily. This patch is Operator with some delay, chorus, and reverb. I originally had the project file for this just called Ptolemy, but after seeing The Glad Scientist's lovely AI art for it, I decided to echo the title of my original modular piece, Ptolemy's Dream, with Medusa's dream. The stone, or perhaps the one whose gaze beholds a petrified world, dreams of lightness.

First exploration of the new Synthesis Technology E370 Quad Morphing VCO.

Patch is a polyphonic krell in C Major Pentatonic, utilizing 2 Make Noise Maths cycling envelopes to shape the amplitude and timbre of each voice as well as trigger the Ornament + Crime Quantermain's quantizer to update the note for each voice based on the cycle time of the envelope. The pitch of each track is then split between a channel of the VCO and its respective Math's channel's Both input (causing the cycles to speed up and slow down based on the current note pitch). The rest of the modular audio path the four voices is two channels of an Optomix, a Manhattan Analog MA35, and a Mutable Instruments Ripples. They were then each panned in Ableton and sent through Valhalla Reverb and two of Ableton's new Echo effects (Echo is awesome!).  The other modulation is provided by another Ornament + Crime in Quadraturia mode, each channel of which is sweeping E370 wavetables, as well as supplementary LFOs from uLFO, Disting, Mother-32, and Polyvoks Modulator. The LFO from a MF-103 pedal is also getting its rate modulated by the Polyvoks and then that LFO is providing some vibrato for all 4 voices.
