"Stop where you are.  You don't know what you're doing."  

A bit of a descent into madness on offer today, with this latest Interbay track--it feels like it would have fit a bit better in "Spooky Week" than in the middle of January.  

Well, that's because "Gauze" was sitting in the Vault with the expectation that it would be part of THIS year's Spooky Week--after having just missed being finished in time for last year.  

And because I'm "all hopped up on goofballs."

To explain, I had a dental appointment today--and on top of everything else I deal with, I suffer from dental anxiety.  This used to be mitigated by nitrous oxide, but my dentist moved to a new building that doesn't allow tanks of gas to be stored, much less used, there...so I am now prescribed an anti-anxiety tranquilizer whenever I have a dental appointment.  I take one the night before, and one two hours before my appointment...  It doesn't knock me out, but it does make me loopy (and a bit sleepy)...and that disconnection is enough to get me through.    

Last night, I found myself about 90% done witht he track I'd intended to post today...just fixing the mix and making certain it all works.  But, before I could finish the track last night, I was starting to get sleepy and thought it was better to take the first pill before I accidentally fell asleep without having taken it.  

It doesn't start working right away, so I still thought I could finish--nope, I fell asleep pretty quickly.  

I woke up, intending on finishing the track...but I was pretty dislocated and I couldn't focus on it enough to not ruin it.  

My hope was to finish the track once I got home--nope, I fell asleep until (checks watch) right now.  And I'm still all hopped up on goofballs.  (Can't tell you how long it is taking me to type this out, as I find myself retyping a lot....correcting mistakes and deleting sentences that have nothing to do with--errrrrr...ummmm...today's Interbay track. 

Today's Interbay track is a spooky post-punk track with classic scary movie samples.  There is cinematic sound design, reverb heavy guitars and a Siouxsie & The Banshees-esque tom heavy drum track that changes the track from atmospheric to aggressive.  

(That tom heavy drum track would amuse anyone who got the chance to catch my old band Cremation Dance live--it sounds a lot like the drums that I played in our song "The Man With The Emerald Eyes.")  

Find out for yourself what the track is like--I feel a nap coming on.  Oh, just be warned that the vocal sample gets a bit yelly--is that even a word?--in parts.
