For Sample Pack Contest X ! Got 7th out of 55. This one was actually fairly last minute thrown together but the end result is that it perfectly nails a style I've wanted to hit for quite a long time but never quite could until now, very happy with it for this reason!

this was also very sonic shuffle-inspired (Sonic Shuffle is my single favorite game ost and I am so overwhelmingly happy that someone submitted a sample from it)but i'm not sure how successfully it would sound like that soundtrack to anyone, inspiration was pretty loose. Also the title was something I imagined could be the title of a track in sonic shuffle and I have no idea if anyone else caught onto this or not lol, the title also has a bit of uhhhh personal relevance that should be obvious to anyone who read my comments last spc hehehe. Anyways i'm pretty happy with it despite its last minute-ness, explored some areas of writing I wanted to for a long time but never really had properly until now, this exact category of weird atonal-ish melody is a vibe i've been trying to hit and never really pulled off in many tracks so I'm glad to have done it here. had no idea how this would be received and i didn't expect it to perform that well because of its weirdness but I at the very least managed to 100% pull of exactly what I want to hear. Pleasantly surprised that so many people liked it!

MEAT EATER

Taking on both the role of vocalist and producer, beardy realizes a unique vision of melodic, twinkling, yet raw and funky songs that happily bridge indie rap, video game music, and earworm pop.

On the first disc of their latest double album SATELLITE etc DELUXE, beardy speeds through a flipbook of heartfelt experiences, using rap as a lens to explore queer identity and internet culture. Earnest lyrics about long-distance relationships, feeling cute, and looming anxiety float over nod-inducing beats that evoke ghosts out of a dusty Nintendo GameCube. A fleet of aliens from The Day The Earth Stood Still begin to invade Earth, but beardy is safe at home, having already uploaded their consciousness to the dark web.

The second disc is home to an exciting addition of new bonus tracks, and a series of genre-bending remixes by five different innovative underground producers! Finally, the instrumentals to Disc 1 are also included so you can let those wiggly synths soak in even deeper.
