Archive 02: First moves / Premiers agissements

Floppy began his quest for justice alone. His first moves weren't as impressive as you might think, believe me...

Tagging greedy companies, regularly hack government broadcasts and other disinformation and taunting the corrupt forces of law and order was now part of his daily routine.

People around the city got wind of the actions of a masked stranger, often described as unconscious and mad, but with a determination and courage that no one had had for so long...

Little by little, groups of people were inspired by Floppy and decided to make him the leader of a new social movement that could revolutionise life in this battered town.

Unfortunately, as well as the locals, the government has also discovered Floppy's actions...

"Floppy...?" questioned the town's leader "That masked guy... He's just another cockroach to squash, so there's nothing to worry about." he said in a cold, detached tone.

"S-sir, with all due respect, h-h-he's already starting to turn the population against us, a-and if the population is against us, we're d-d-doomed !" exclaims the councillor, panicked and intimidated by the new turn of events.

"The rabble, eh...? They're simply imitating the only buffoon who gives them hope, all we have to do is set an example and they'll go back to being as educated as they were before... Sheep are sheep, and they will bend their backs at the sight of the first retaliation." pronounced the leader, seated at his desk.

His piercing gaze and pale complexion chilled the blood of the adviser, who bowed before leaving, cold sweat pouring down his back.

Picking up a blurry picture of Floppy lying on his desk, the leader stood up and moved to the large window behind his desk, looking out over the city below.

"So you think you can change things? Being the hero who delivers this town from a tyrant?" questioning the picture of Floppy "We'll see how long you last in your illusion when reality catches up with you..."

The leader crushed Floppy's picture with his clenched fist before throwing it in the bin.

The wind was finally changing course, but a bad omen was on the way... a truly bad omen...

Archive S01: Trapped inside a crazy dimension / Coincé dans une folle dimension

C'était un soir particulier, le brouillard s'était levé et l'air était d'un froid à couper le souffle.
Les rues étaient désertes, même les habituels rats d'égouts s'étaient terrés dans leurs repaires.
Floppy, essoufflé, se cacha dans un bâtiment lugubre et délabré, regardant dans toutes les directions, apeuré par quelque chose.
Il ne comprenait pas comment il a pu arriver ici, pensant que c'est un véritable cauchemar.
Floppy essayait de reprendre son souffle, tout en faisant le moins de bruit possible quand soudain, une barre en métal tombe, surprenant Floppy.
En regardant en direction du bruit, il aperçut une silhouette. Floppy était sur ses gardes, prêt à se défendre de ce qui pouvait sortir de l'ombre.
Un cyber-zombie surgit et fonce droit vers Floppy ! Grâce à ses réflexes, il esquive et court pour sortir du bâtiment mais c'était déjà trop tard...
Une armée entière de cyber-zombie avait déjà encerclé le bâtiment ! Floppy n'avait plus le choix... Il devait se battre pour sa survie !
Prenant son courage à deux mains et se préparant pour le pire, il prit son fusil à pompe en main et le chargea, prêt à en découdre...

It was a peculiar night, the fog had lifted and the air was breathtakingly cold.
Streets were deserted, even the usual sewer rats were holed up in their lairs.
Out of breath, Floppy hid in a gloomy and dilapidated building, looking around, scared by something.
He couldn't understand how he got here, thinking it was a true nightmare.
Without making a noise, Floppy tried to catch his breath when suddenly, a metal rod fell, startling Floppy.
Looking where the metal rod fell, Floppy saw a grim figure. He was ready and focused try defend himself from whatever could come out of the shadows.
A cyber-zombie arises and run straight for Floppy ! Using his reflexes, he dodged and ran to get out of the building but it was already too late...
A whole army of cyber-zombies had already surrounded the building! Floppy had no choice... He had to fight for his life!
Gathering his courage and preparing for the worst, he took his shotgun in hand and loaded it, ready to fight...

Floppy Mix 2023

Vous l'avez surement remarqué depuis un petit moment mais Floppy ressent beaucoup d'anxiété.

La cause de cette anxiété vient des précédentes émotions citées, elles contribuent toutes à cette anxiété pesante et palpable... J'en ai des sueurs froides...

Je ne peux pas dire qu'il a peur des gens qui l'entoure, ni même qu'il se soucie du regard des autres mais... Floppy ne se sent vraiment pas à l'aise avec les gens.
C'est bien pour ça qu'il agit seul et qu'il n'attend rien de personne, il a toujours été un fantôme aux yeux des gens, une créature étrange de par son comportement et sa façon de penser.

Il s'est toujours senti différent des autres, ce n'est pas la première fois que je le mentionne... Mais malgré ça, Floppy reste altruiste, à tel point qu'il est prêt à sacrifier sa propre personne pour aider les autres.

C'est donc pour ça qu'il a décidé de rendre service à sa ville... C'est devenu son fardeau.

Bon... Notre voyage prend fin. Je vous remercie de m'avoir accompagné jusqu'au bout, j'espère vous revoir un jour.

You may have noticed that Floppy has been feeling very anxious for a while now.

The root cause of this anxiety comes from the previous emotions mentioned, and they all contribute to this heavy, palpable anxiety... It gives me cold sweats...

I can't say that he's afraid of the people around him, or even that he worries about the way other people look at him, but... Floppy really doesn't feel at ease with people.
That's why he acts alone and doesn't expect anything from anyone. He was always a ghost in people's eyes, a strange creature in his behaviour and way of thinking.

He always felt different from everyone else, and this isn't the first time I've mentioned it... But despite this, Floppy remains altruistic, so much so that he's willing to sacrifice himself to help others.

That's why he decided to do his town a favour... It has become his burden.

Well, now... This is the end of our journey. I'd like to thank you for travelling all the way with me, and I hope to see you again one day.

Burden

Nous voici devant sa deuxième émotion: L'Amusement.

Plutôt étonnant vous me direz, vu le contexte de cette histoire. La dernière fois que Floppy s'était autant amusé c'était durant son enfance.
Il adore cette nouvelle vie et ça on ne peut pas lui ne vouloir. Il fût trop longtemps prisonnier d'un train de vie mené par le jugement et l'oppression d'autrui.

Un peu de gaiété n'a jamais tué personne, je vous l'accorde, mais dans notre cas c'est tout le contraire ! Floppy s'amuse tellement qu'on pourrait le qualifier de téméraire.
Je pourrais même vous parler de sa détermination, c'est une vraie tête de mule le Floppy ! Il fera tout pour atteindre ses objectifs, abandonner ne fait pas parti de son vocabulaire !

Je ne sais pas vous mais cette détermination infaillible... Comment Floppy réagirait quand même la détermination ne suffira pas ?
Et comment peut-il s'amuser dans un contexte si sérieux ?

Laissez moi vous expliquer, vous comprendrez mieux... Pour tout vous dire, Floppy a totalement rejeté la réalité de son monde... Il s'est créé sa propre réalité. En d'autres termes, son esprit s'est tordu de telle sorte que Floppy minimise grandement ce qu'il voit. Il a trop pris l'habitude de voir la violence et le crime devant lui que ça ne l'affecte plus.

C'est devenu un jeu pour lui... Et c'est un jeu qu'il compte bien remporter...

We are now facing his second emotion: Fun.

Rather surprising you might say, given the context of this story. The last time Floppy had this much fun was during his childhood.
He loves this new life and we can't blame him for that. For so long he had been a prisoner of a lifestyle driven by the judgement and oppression of others.

A little cheerfulness never killed anyone, I grant you, but in our case it's quite the opposite! Floppy has so much fun that you could call him reckless.
I could even tell you about his determination - he's a real mule's head, that Floppy! He'll do anything to achieve his goals, giving up is not in his vocabulary!

I don't know about you, but that unfailing determination... How would Floppy react when even determination isn't enough?
And how can he have fun in such a serious context?

Let me explain, you'll understand it better... To tell you the truth, Floppy has totally rejected the reality of his world... He created his own reality. In other words, his mind has been twisted in such a way that Floppy greatly downplays what he sees. He has become too used to violence and crime in front of him that it doesn't affect him anymore.

It's just a game to him... And it's a game he's determined to win...

Twisted Mind

La nostalgie... Un puissant sentiment...

Floppy la ressent souvent, bien trop souvent... On pourrait lui reprocher de s'accrocher au passé et de ne pas vivre dans son temps mais Floppy ne voit pas les choses de cette manière.

Il veut tout simplement que les choses s'arrangent, vivre librement sans craindre l'injustice.

Ce sentiment peut submerger Floppy et l'enfermer dans son monde, le séparant d'une réalité qu'il n'accepte pas...

Il se rappelle de cette époque où le vent lui carressait la peau, assis sur l'herbe, admirant la nature. Tout lui paraissait plus simple et paisible, il voyait les gens sourire et la vie proliférer devant lui, sans se soucier du lendemain.

C'est ce sentiment qui renforce sa détermination à se battre pour retrouver ce qu'il ressasse sans cesse.

Je peux le comprendre, connaissant le contexte dans lequel il se trouve... Ca doit être éprouvant de ressentir autant de nostalgie comme ça...

Qu'en pensez-vous ?

Nostalgia... A powerful feeling...

Floppy feels it often, far too often... He could be criticised for clinging to the past and not living in the present, but Floppy doesn't see things that way.

He just wants things to work out, to live freely without fear of injustice.

This feeling can overwhelm Floppy and keep him in his own world, separated from a reality he doesn't accept...

He remembers a time when the wind caressed his skin as he sat on the grass, admiring nature. Everything seemed simpler and more peaceful, he could see people smiling and life growing before his eyes, without worrying about tomorrow.

It's this feeling that strengthens his determination to fight to get back what he keeps thinking about.

I can understand that, knowing the context in which he finds himself... It must be difficult to feel so much nostalgia...

Fun Times

Fascinante cette usine à jouet hein ? Figurez vous qu'elle provient de l'imagination même de Floppy !

Cette imagination provient d'une émotion particulière nommée la Fascination. Vous remarquerez que cette usine à jouet n'est pas comme usine à jouet ordinaire, elle est beaucoup plus complexe et désordonnée.
Floppy n'arrive pas à canaliser son imagination, elle est débordante et invasive, tellement invasive qu'elle s'écrase elle-même en créant constamment des nouvelles idées.

Il est fasciné par beaucoup de chose, à tel point qu'il est impossible d'en faire une liste. Les animaux, le comportement sociétal des humains jusqu'à la moindre forme prise par un caillou trouvé sur son chemin, l'esprit de Floppy est constamment bombardé de questions.

Avoir soif de savoir est généralement vu comme étant une qualité mais dans le cas de Floppy, il s'agit d'une pièce à deux faces...

Il cherchera toujours une réponse aux phénomènes rencontrés... Il a horreur de laisser une question sans réponse. Malheureusement pour lui, une question le hante depuis si longtemps... Une question qui le ronge au plus profond de son être...

Comment les choses ont pu empirer à ce point ?

Je pense qu'il devrait lâcher prise...

Fascinating toy factory, isn't it? Well, it comes from Floppy's own imagination!

This imagination comes from a particular emotion called Fascination. You'll notice that this toy factory isn't like an ordinary toy factory, it's much more complex and chaotic.
Floppy can't channel his imagination, it's overflowing and invasive, so invasive in fact that it overwrites itself by constantly creating new ideas.

He's fascinated by so many things that it's impossible to make a list. From animals and human societal behaviour to the slightest shape taken by a pebble found in his path, Floppy's mind is constantly flooded with endless questions.

A thirst for knowledge is generally seen as a quality, but in Floppy's case it's a two-sided coin...

He's always looking for answers to any phenomena he encounters... He hates leaving a question unanswered. Unfortunately for him, one question has haunted him for so long... A question that gnaws at the very core of his being...

How did things got so bad?

I think he should let go...
