Ho conosciuto Cristian Carrara, persona di grande semplicità e gentilezza, e solo in un secondo momento ho ascoltato la sua musica.
Quando improvvisa al pianoforte, il sorridente ragazzo che si era conosciuto prima, si trasforma rivelando un'inaspettata profondità tinta da una poetica malinconia. 
Incuriosita, ho ascoltato "Piano Diary", un diario scritto con le note anziché con le parole, e ho pensato di poter ricondurre vagamente la musica di Cristian al neo-romanticismo, seppur in vari dettagli rivelasse uno studio e una consapevolezza compositiva che pochi compositori di questo movimento hanno. 
Ho continuato con "LiberMundi", opera che si iscrive, pur nella sua originalità, nella lunga tradizione melodica italiana, e "Destinazione del Sangue", che prosegue la scuola italiana in materia di colonne sonore. 
Mi sono imbattuta infine in brani scritti per un contesto assolutamente pop (da presentare in luoghi come il Festival di Sanremo) come "Canzone fra le guerre", inclusa anche in questa registrazione con un nuovo arrangiamento. 

Generi diversi in cui Cristian si cimenta senza imbarazzo e con grande duttilità o forse smussando i confini creati da chi ancora oggi vuole costruire muri anziché gettare ponti nel mondo musicale. 
Anche in questo ritratto, che include sue opere arrangiate per l'occasione o brani scritti appositamente per arpa o violoncello e arpa, i generi si mischiano e confondono, le guerre e le lotte si ingentiliscono in visioni romane o in ipnotici carillon che ci sfiorano delicatamente, ma non senza lasciare traccia...

No division between 'absolute' and 'applied' music -- that's the way it has always been for Manuel de Sica. Here we have the chance to explore the oeuvre of this contemporary Italian composer, best known for his contributions to the world of film; Il giardino dei Finzi Contini, the last track on the release, won an Oscar nomination for Best Original Score.

Much of De Sica's work centres around the themes of pain and suffering, where music is invested with the power to help alleviate the indifference that surrounds so much human grief - as in pieces such as Kojiki. The titles translates "News form ancient times". This is a short symphonic poem inspired by the bombing of Pearl Harbour in 1941. The story told regards the childhood, adolescence and death of a kamikaze pilot, of the kind who might have taken part in the bombing. The final dance describes his assent to the empyrean world of his ancestors.

Performing this music is the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini, one of Italy's most important symphony orchestras and which has appeared under conductors of the calibre of Charles Dutoit, Lorin Maazel and Kurt Masur -- to name but a few. The ensemble provides the background to a wonderfully lively instrumental fantasy in which the harp, violin, viola and piano -- here astutely performed Floraleda Sacchi, Maristella Patuzzi, Anna Serova and Michelangelo Carbonara respectively -- becomes the soloists in a fascinating, wide-reaching musical fabric. Flavio Emilio Scogna conducts.

A minimal and intense CD dedicated to Philip Glass' music.

Since 2007 Floraleda Sacchi performs regularly Philip Glass' works on Harp. 
She realized Glass' music works perfectly on Harp and since then she became for many years the only harpist regularly performing worldwide his music in concerts, tv and radio broadcast: performances were listed on official Glass' website and some Glass' pieces were recorded live for the American Harp Society as important contribution to Harp repertoire.
 
Beside live performances, in 2007 Floraleda recorded 'Open the Kingdom' for the CD 'Suite en Duo' published by PHILIPS label (Cat. No. 476 5978).
In 2008, she included the five 'Metamorphosis' in her celebrated recording 'Minimal Harp' (DECCA, cat. No. 476 3172).
 
Finally, in 2012, she recorded this album for Portraits' Collection by Amadeus Arte with a lot of world premières for the Harp and with a completely new sound approach opening a new dimension for this music.
