TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ D-KNOX

D-Knox ( Donnell Knox ) is a living legend and integral member of Techno’s history, delivering funk-laden grooves, deep Detroit and hard-hitting Techno for the past 25+ years. 
Over that time he has gathered a following for his music both at home in the US, and overseas. Now residing in Warsaw ( Poland ) his sound continues to develop, as his passion never wavers.
Knox grew up in Kalamazoo ( Michigan, USA ), a city halfway between Detroit and Chicago, which goes a long way to explain the musical direction he’s taken over the years. As a musical youth he learned piano and drums before discovering dance music in the early ‘80s. Spending summer vacations with family in these two cities, he would listen to the Hot Mix radio show while in Chicago and The Wizard ( Jeff Mills ) on WJLB in Detroit, drawing inspiration and knowledge from two places that have been instrumental in House and Techno’s history. When his cousin, Jay Denham returned to Kalamazoo in the early ‘90s the two began making tracks together and later Denham introduced him to the likes of Derrick May and other early Detroit producers. After releasing tracks for various key labels, like Elypsia, Morbid, Magic Trax ( run by the influential 90’s magazine, Magic Feet ) and Denham’s Black Nation, he started his own Sonic Mind imprint, which continues to this day.

I first came across Pushmann when I was buying records and started to notice his stellar productions. Proper underground hypnotic groovy techno. He has had releases on some quality labels, most notably in 2021 on Jeff Mills' Axis and Kaiser's KSR. 

He has an album coming out in May 2022 on Matterwave Records that includes remixes from Ben Sims, Alexander Kowalski, Head Front Panel and Jeroen Search. Can't wait.

I am all about quality mixes above all else when it comes to choosing my guests and Pushmann has really delivered here. It's not often that a mix really blows me away, but when I came across "Pushmann @ Tresor (Berlin) 22_02_2020 (Closing Set)" (available on Pushmann's Soundcloud page) well that mix blew the socks right off my dainty little feet!! Go check.

Cocorico! I got such amazing memories with this awesome club in Riccione Italy. Didn’t play there for 4 years, first it had to close down and then there was this virus. So I was uber happy to be back and it was a total blast, such a good vibe right into the beautiful sunrise. Such an incredible atmosphere in this place, I would say better than ever before, if that is even possible. So great to see so many happy people dancing in this pyramid again. Thanks to everyone for bringing this energy to the night. The set was 3h 20 min in the end. So in case you listen to this on the radio/internet you might miss the last 20 min as it is always 1h pieces. We are thrilled to present an exclusive mix from the iconic Techno maestro, Chris Liebing. A luminary in the techno world since the 1990s, Liebing's journey began in the city of Giessen, Germany. His meteoric rise was marked by the acclaimed “Evosonic'' radio show that resonated across Germany's airwaves. In 1999, capitalizing on his rising fame and successful collaborations, Liebing established the now-renowned record label CLR (initially Chris Liebing Recordings, later rebranded to Create Learn Recognize), solidifying his status in the techno realm.

Over the years, Liebing's influence and prestige have only soared. He has graced the decks at every prestigious club and festival globally, forging collaborations with some of the most eminent names in the industry such as Ben Klock, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Adam Beyer, Charlotte De Witte, and Drumcell, among others.

Today, we're beyond excited to showcase Chris Liebing's 2023 set from the famed Elsewhere in Brooklyn. Elsewhere has been a trailblazer in Bushwick's official club scene and has evolved into a versatile venue, welcoming a diverse range of artists for live performances. This set is a testament to Liebing's enduring legacy and his continuous innovation in the dynamic world of techno.

Florian Meindl is a multi-talented and multi-faceted artist, who is renowned for his technical
prowess.
Producing for over fourteen years, Florian has become known for his deep, grooving powerful
techno. His productions are characterised by his love of analog, which represent his true signature
sound.
2006 saw the inception of Florian’s label FLASH Recordings. The label showcases Florian’s musical
vision, reflects his taste and gives him tracks for his DJ Mixes. A platform for artists that Florian
likes, FLASH has had over 130 releases already including tracks from Heron, Electric Rescue, Jamie
Anderson, Alignment, Hans Bouffmyhre & Avgusto.
In May 2015 Florian released his second solo album ‘Collide’ to critical acclaim. The album was
clearly influenced by Florian’s transition from producing almost entirely digitally for thirteen years
to recording mainly analog jamming sessions and editing the end results after on the computer. The
technical aspect is integral to Florian’s musical journey that he takes the listener on. His talent lies
in enabling the machines to speak and groove, to connect with them and create sounds and
patterns.
In addition to solo releases and numerous collaborations with international artists, and remixing the
likes of Hot Chip & Royksopp, Florian is busy with his sound design brand Riemann Kollektion and
Riemann Modular which is his new studio gear company specializing in Eurorack Modules.
As a DJ, live performer, studio producer and sound designer, Florian has over the years established
an impressive producing base for himself in his Berlin based Riverside Studio complex with an
exciting hardware set up including Modular Systems, an analog mixing desk as well as classic
machines like Roland 909.
After fourteen years of international performances and production, Florian has developed a special
connection with his analog equipment, letting them speak for him in music where words just aren’t
possible. His third album will be released in February 2017 in combination with a worldwide full
analog live act tour.
