Procombo returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects with four-track techno EP ‘U Wanna’. 

Active in Istanbul’s techno scene since the mid ’90s, Procombo heads up RX Recordings, an offshoot of the vital RX Istanbul club in the city. Returning to Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects Label this September after 2021’s ‘Orpheus’, the DJ/producer delivers four new hard-hitting techno tracks. 

‘U Wanna’ gets straight to the point as rattling drums push up against swirling pads leading into a hooky vocal destined for emotional dancefloor moments, while ‘Bei Bei’ keeps the energy levels up with its fluid and shuffling percussion. ‘Particles of Groove’ sees warped hits twist and turn alongside modulating stabs and delayed FX before ‘Hopeless Romantic’ brings tight, punchy snares together with spoken word snippets over trippy earworms to close out the EP.

Mørbeck is one of the key  gures of the Berlin underground scene, which makes him a  tting piece of the puzzle to Wunderblock Records’ hyperformulated techno vision.A resident DJ and purveyor of the club scene in Berlin, Mørbeck has released on numerous labels but his most recent achievement stands as his 2013 set up of imprint ‘Code Is Law’, a home for creativity in the techno universe. Now he delivers infectious EP ‘Berlin 95’ drawing on acid and techno in uences and blending his unique style with a love for the 80’s and 90’s that inspired him so.
First up we have title track ‘Berlin 95’, nothing less than a forward-thinking acid trance techno to get the heart racing and showcase Mørbeck in his pro- duction skills. The vibe gets heavier on ‘Melody Massacre’, a slow-burner fea- turing heaving percussion and snipped ethereal vocals and synth work which intoxicate the listener.
‘Frankfurt 2000’ is a swirling mass of shimmery percussion, employing those frantic synths which are synonymous with 90’s rave culture that Mørbeck is so inspired by. The last track on the EP finalises an outstanding set, an addictive vocal pattern is combined with twinkling melodies and a moody bass, setting the tone alight. Berlin 95 EP is just another star to add to Mørbeck’s list of accomplishments, its uniquely produced elements making it a timeless piece of classic techno.

KUSP joins Rekids Special Projects with the rumbling ‘Freedom Of Fear EP’ this January.

The KUSP project, formed of two friends rekindling their love for electronic music, has seen the duo release on the likes of Suara, We Are The Brave, and Odd Recordings since 2018, picking up heavy support from the likes of Alan Fitzpatrick, Charlotte De Witte, Adam Beyer, and of course Radio Slave along the way.

Across ‘Freedom of Fear’, KUSP display their knack for crafting high intensity, uncompromising techno, perfectly fitting the criteria for the heavier Rekids sister label. Florian Meindl is a multi-talented and multi-faceted artist, who is renowned for his technical
prowess.
Producing for over fourteen years, Florian has become known for his deep, grooving powerful
techno. His productions are characterised by his love of analog, which represent his true signature
sound.
2006 saw the inception of Florian’s label FLASH Recordings. The label showcases Florian’s musical
vision, reflects his taste and gives him tracks for his DJ Mixes. A platform for artists that Florian
likes, FLASH has had over 130 releases already including tracks from Heron, Electric Rescue, Jamie
Anderson, Alignment, Hans Bouffmyhre & Avgusto.
In May 2015 Florian released his second solo album ‘Collide’ to critical acclaim. The album was
clearly influenced by Florian’s transition from producing almost entirely digitally for thirteen years
to recording mainly analog jamming sessions and editing the end results after on the computer. The
technical aspect is integral to Florian’s musical journey that he takes the listener on. His talent lies
in enabling the machines to speak and groove, to connect with them and create sounds and
patterns.
In addition to solo releases and numerous collaborations with international artists, and remixing the
likes of Hot Chip & Royksopp, Florian is busy with his sound design brand Riemann Kollektion and
Riemann Modular which is his new studio gear company specializing in Eurorack Modules.
As a DJ, live performer, studio producer and sound designer, Florian has over the years established
an impressive producing base for himself in his Berlin based Riverside Studio complex with an
exciting hardware set up including Modular Systems, an analog mixing desk as well as classic
machines like Roland 909.
After fourteen years of international performances and production, Florian has developed a special
connection with his analog equipment, letting them speak for him in music where words just aren’t
possible. His third album will be released in February 2017 in combination with a worldwide full
analog live act tour.
