ESOTERIC EXPANSE 5 is the fifth entry in DJ Basilisk’s Esoteric Expanse series, an ambitious series of long-form mixes dedicated to sonic world-building and cross-genre experimentation. Four hours and 70 meticulously curated selections await, opening with a hypnotic blend of ambient, downtempo, IDM, electro, and breaks before widening horizons with cosmic disco, acid house, progressive trance, and dub techno, always with a psychedelic touch. There is an earthy and organic aesthetic to many of these selections, wispy echoes of the starlit dance floors and resplendent chill domes of some counter-clock world orbiting on the far side of the sun. Expect to hear genres blended, melodies harmonized, and beats matched as extended, layered mixing transforms diverse source material into a seamless oneness.

Conceived, arranged, mixed, and mastered by DJ Basilisk in Taipei, Taiwan, and Vancouver, Canada, in August and September 2022. Recorded on three decks using Traktor 3 with a Korg Nanokontrol. Post-processed with Audacity, Ableton Live 11, and LoudMax.

Jens Eriksson has released music for more than two decades. Ranging from interstellar drones to twisted night time psytrance and from indie rock to glitch, he managed to surprise us again with this release.
Known from various projects and collaborations like Purosurpo, Derango, Doctor Evazan, Hallucinogenic Horses and Nge Duo, every project is unique in it's own way.
Jens has a very particular approach to manipulate sounds which results in a fine balance between warm dynamics and celestial farts.

Doctor Evazan previously released the album "Fold Reality" at Oval Harmonique. An album with dark and dirty flavoured beats and hypnotic soundscapes. This EP is the first part of a showcase for his interest in  electronic beats. Enjoy this sonic treatment from your favourite Doctor.

Xenoscapes is a Moody, Atmospheric form of Minimal Techno/ Tech House with a Unique Dark, Sexy and groovy vibe. Created from with in the mind of Benny Mcgrigor. This project has been brooding and evolving for the last 10 years as he experiments and teaches himself the techniques that brings this form of music in to this world.
Touring, playing festivals and Clubs and releasing music on labels from all over Europe, Latin America, Australia, Asia and more the Xenoscapes sound has now spread to listeners and manifested onto dancefloors through out the world.

Message from Subotage:
I have been examining strange sounds on the boundary of psychedelia and technoid genres for 15 years now.
2019 was full of new experiences for me, with special gigs like in Brazil at the magical Adhana Festival on NYE, or that amazing afternoon at Ozora Festival’s Pumpui stage before the Extrawelt/Midimilliz hibrid live set. This was one of the most important days in my life so far. 
In the end of the year I released my recent studio mix titled ‘Psychotechno’ when I tried to summarize the past decade and set out the way to the future at the same time.‘2020 is going to be an incredible year’, I said then and I was right:The world changed irreversibly and we still cannot see how everything will be like. 
I started the year at the legendary festival in Panama called Tribal Gathering where I was invited to by Boshke Beats that was one of the most important labels for me when I started to play as a dj and organize parties back in the 2000’s. 
This is very interesting moment musicwise - I believe a new style is borning right now and I’m proud I can be part of it. In the quarantine I’m already working on my first album that hopefully will emerge everything I was looking for.
It is a big honour now to prepare this mixtape to my beloved Boshke Beats and Ozoradio. Enjoy!
