Born into a family of musicians, it came of no surprise to see a young Florian Rietze lay the platform of what would later manifest into an unyielding love for music. Based in Potsdam, this young producer & DJ has already received recognition from many within the proliferating European electronic music scene. Having initially been vested to the hip hop and breakdance culture, 2005 saw Florian take his first steps towards the electronic music scene when he attended SonneMondSterne. Florian is on the allegiant quest of refining the sound of his music. Just like a renowned composer known for his eclectic sounds John Cage once said, 'Everything we do is music', Florian too finds an inspiration for his music in the the sounds of streets, in people's voices, in silence and nature, and above all - in the ordinary and extraordinary of real life. With his distinctly beautiful debut EP ‘Treibholz’, the talented dj and producer Florian Rietze is welcomed into the Steyoyoke family with open arms. Florians delicate blend of unique and eclectic sounds has captured the attention of many within the industry. The recognition received has been earned through Florian’s unique and skilled approach to producing music. This young dj/producer has a bright future within the deep house scene.

Isolated melodies drift ever closer to the beat to evoke a sense of melancholy with the opening title track ‘Treibholz’. Florian effortlessly weaves together refined and at times surprising sounds to conjure up an almost dream like state. Gracefully building throughout, ‘Treibholz’ is a downtempo treasure to keep for those somber moments as spring struggles to shake off winter.

‘Treibhaus’ is an embracing and emotionally haunting track that lingers within the heart. Persistent vocals create the narrative of this track and resonate against idle synth chords to create ideas of insecurity. A beautifully disturbing track with a lot of heart that is sure to reach out to a lot of people.

The EP also features two remixes to help put the finishing touches on this successful debut EP. MPathy’s remix of ‘Treibhaus’ is progressive affair that lifts you high and beyond the clouds. The second remix comes from Antonio Olivieri. The remix takes a more direct and driven take on ‘Treibholz’ and yet still manages to keep the clarity of sounds that the original holds so well.

The love of house music runs deep through the Steyoyoke family and this latest release is not shy to show it. Taking some of the labels shining stars from the past year, Steyoyoke artists have been given the chance to remix their fellow family members tracks. Family Affair 01 is a salute to the unity shown within the label and proves that there is still so much love to give from Steyoyoke.

Starting things off is Bartok’s remix of Dahu’s dark and enigmatic ‘Deep In The Woods’ anthem. Bartok holds onto some of the mystery, though he twists and turns through the woods to conjure up an all the more driven step and finds itself coming to a clearing.

Bartok’s ‘Cherries’ was a provocative and alluring house anthem that left you wanting more and to remix such a gem would take a brave soul, step up Soul Button. Keeping still the signature vocals, Soul Button lifts Cherries higher with rushing synth chords falling into the beat.

Sasch puts a strong hand to I’m Fine and Antonio Olivieri’s summer anthem - ‘If I Were Music’. Rising from the dark, Sasch comes out fighting with a persistent groove that keeps going until you’ve had enough.

The young dj and producer Dahu gives his take on Antonio Olivieri’s ‘Rudiments’ with an uplifting remix of the original foot stomper. Rich with soul and raw with emotion, Dahu tantalizes with unique and surprising synths and sounds.

‘Marian’ by Sasch was a track that found itself lifting the hearts of many patrons to the dancefloor. Antonio Olivieri’s remix delivers with an engaging beat and a teasing spanish guitar sample that lifts you high beyond the clouds.

Steyoyoke’s newest family member Florian Rietze is given the task of remixing I'm Fine and Antonio Olivieri’s - ‘Your Ghost’. Florian shows no sign of being the youngest within the family with what is a very mature remix. Seductively dark, but still tender and gentle.

Closing the curtain on this first Family Affair is MPathy with a weighty punch behind Soul Button’s classic - ‘Shadows’. Filled to the brim with energy and heart, MPathy highlights the passion and evermore giving challenge of delivering only the finest house music.
