Ohms Love is Eivind Johansson Vullum’s debut solo LP. 
It consists of a selection of tracks made over a four-year period. Drawing from his experience in field recording, film music composition and club event curation, Eivind sets forth a seamless collection of melodic and meditative beat-free music that stands out yet fits in the rich history of Norwegian ambient music. The form of Vullum’s electronic compositions reflects his background as a sound designer, which has had a strong influence on the dynamics and the narrative elements in his music. Ohms Love will be released on HMD Records Friday March 4th.

Eivind Johansson Vullum (b.1984) is a Norwegian musician, sound designer and DJ. Vullum has since the early 2000s been active in different bands such as the kraut/psych-pop four-piece Sally Suicide. From there, he ventured into a more electronic direction sonically. He was one half of the hardware techno duo Bloksberg, which made a name for itself with its leftfield techno in clubs both inside and outside Norway. As a DJ and promoter, he presented his concept Klubb Kadabra at the club Blå in Oslo for over three years, focusing on promoting local underground DJs.

Vullum holds a BA in Sound Design from the Nordic Institute of Stage and Studio (NISS) and is currently studying Musicology at the University of Oslo. Over the last few years he has worked in sound design and music production for short films and other visual projects such as the interactive installation Speisa –performed at the Ultima contemporary music festival in Oslo– and for the Kube Art Museum in Ålesund. His most recent collaboration has been with the artist Thyra Dragseth.

Over the last few years, Scottish label, Bulletdodge has gradually manoeuvred itself in the realms of electronica, indie dance and beyond. Their latest release, a new EP by Phelan Kane takes a turn towards shades of Electro.

Phelan Kane is a Berlin and London based music producer, engineer, artist, developer and educator. For over twenty years he has been active in both the music industry and the contemporary music education sector. His specialism is sound design and production techniques such as synthesis and sampling, alongside audio engineering, mixing, mastering, audio processing and plug-in development. His credits and clients include sources as diverse as Radiohead, Fad Gadget, Placebo, Moby, Ableton, Mute, The British Film Institute, Island, PIAS, Channel 4, Beggars Banquet, Boy George, Sony BMG, Universal, EMI and Warner Bros to name just a few! In 2001 Kane worked closely with pioneering synth artist, Fad Gadget a.k.a. Frank Tovey, playing an instrumental part in his support on Depeche Mode’s 2001 Exciter tour and as part of the Fad Gadget band, performing at Euro Rock and Wembley Arena.

Focusing on his solo work, he delivers four new tracks for Bulletdodge to form his ‘Interlacing EP’ which is backed by remixes from Werner Niedermeier, Inhmost, and Stockton And Malone.

Japanese born Shoko Igarashi's debut album Simple Sentences will be released on Tigersushi Records on 20th of May.

It's a record that, not unlike a piece of luggage checking in from city to city, has managed to absorb vital influences from each place it has landed. Shoko grew up in rural Japan, she studied in the US and is currently living in the most quintessential European city, Brussels. Shining in its diversity, Simple Sentences carries elements from each one of those stops in her life. Her native Japan and her love for anime that she watched as a kid, the rigorousncaess of her Boston Berklee jazz education (Shoko is a saxophonist), European bleep techno and Warp, and even euro disco psych kitsch, since Shoko names Dan Lacksman as one of her heroes.
