Mikono Kwenye Hewa gained Muthoni an MTV Africa Award nomination last year, and she releases her crowdfunded EP on Africa Unsigned soon. Floris Jonker is one of the producers on the EP and he made this remix of her hit song Mikono Kwenye Hewa as a teaser of what to expect.

16th May 2011 sees the official UK launch of AfricaUnsigned.com linking African music directly to its UK fans. With this launch, UK based African artists can now be considered for "crowd funding" by their fans to help develop their careers, with the website also open to European fans and artists alike. The website catapults African Music to a new level of exposure and leverages artist / fan relationships by helping unsigned African artists to record music funded by fans.
