This young artist schooled to master saxophone according to strict classical education by globally renowned lecturers has already proven his skills in numerous competitions although the discovery of a passion for electronic music production now seems to have taken over a large part of his life.

As his curiosity for music began to grow beyond classical arrangements he followed his journey through different genres. Avant-garde, Jazz as well as Contemporary Classical music have made a big influence, while electronic music culture is what fuels the inspiration.

The work by Italian producer Caramel Chameleon will be released on cassette tape from Florklang Reocrds. His atmospheric sounds, built up over the last few years, has captivated many listeners and has been released on various labels. This release from Florklang Reocrds is like a collection of his everyday sketches. From the sound that emphasizes the beat, there is a non-beat experimental track, and the works collected in the last few years are put together in one cassette tape. It is finished in an EP that summarizes some of his evolving sounds.

Kab Driver (real name David Baxter) has been involved with Acroplane since its inception, but this is the first time we have put music out under this moniker. As Kab Driver he has previously released on Airflex Labs and Kinnego Records, and has worked on tracks with Boxcutter, Brian Greene and a myriad of other talented heads from the Belfast scene and beyond.

Little Smoke is a collection of tracks that manages to be both fresh and nostalgic simultaneously. The EP maintains a fast pace through the first three tracks, complemented by slick acid lines and frenetic, almost braindance-like melodies in healthy doses. “Wake Up Time to Die”, the fourth entry, occupies a calmer environment, slowing the breaks down and letting the fluttering synths take their time.

Another long-time Acroplane familiar, The Person (aka Primary Node) is in charge of remix duties here, delivering a caustic IDM/electro version of Little Smoke that brings some serious dancefloor heat, taking liberties with the tempo and surgically building layers around the original melody.

Hailing from Chicago, Beau Wanzer has carved out a singular voice in electronic music since debuting on the L.I.E.S. label in 2013. Wanzer’s music is not industrial, wave, electro, or techno - it’s a unique and twisted amalgamation of all that, and more. Crazy as it sounds, we at Suction Records have been sitting on this Beau Wanzer material since 2003. Back then Beau was working at Weekend Records And Soap — a Chicago hub for the city’s exploding electro scene — when Solvent and Lowfish rolled into town to perform at an Ersatz Audio label showcase. We met Beau at the shop and he gave us a 21-track CDR. We were instant fans, fast friends, and went on to the share the stage with him several times, well before he released his first records. That CDR contains these 6 tracks now released on 10”-vinyl as the “Do The Spider Shimmy” EP. This is suction049.

Had that CDR not been held onto, and recently-unearthed by Solvent, this music would have disappeared into digital oblivion; Beau had long forgotten them and didn’t even have a copy of these CDR tracks. Beau Wanzer’s trademark sound — raw, minimal electronics and effected-beyond-recognition vocals — were already in full-effect circa 2003, but what makes this material different from his contemporary output is the dry, drumbox-funk influence of Detroit’s Ersatz Audio label (Le Car, ADULT.), which is also heard loud and clear across the EP.
