Few people have pushed the boundaries of breakbeat driven music further than Jim Coles in recent years. Formerly a Hip-Hop DJ and producer 2Tall, Coles shook off this alias around the turn of the last decade and began growing into his current incarnation as Om Unit. During this time he adopted briefly adopted another guise as Phillip D Kick, going on to use that moniker to cross-pollinate Chicago Footwork with Jungle - in doing so helping to develop the so-called 'slowfast' style that has since become his calling card. A fan of DnB since his youth, Coles was delighted when his work at higher tempos was eventually recognised by none other than Goldie - who enlisted him to drop last year's 'Sleepwalkers' three  tracker on his iconic Metalheadz imprint. 

That EP is now followed a year later by 'Inversion' an 8 Track mini album that finds Coles straddling all of the tropes of modern Drum and Bass that he himself has helped establish, whilst giving a healthy nod to the genre's traditions as defined by 'Headz. For his part Coles says he's, "..truly blessed to be able to put this project together and to be welcomed into the fold so readily". Before the record drops in full next Monday 17th November, we've got 'Parallel' for you to listen to in full below. A sullen amen driven stepper, it comes heavy with all the oomph of classic Headz thanks to stabs of scuzzily distorted Reese bassline that gut punches from the low end.

Full of energy, Laughin Louie has been loving electronic music since the begining of the scene in canada in the early 1990s. hanging out with djs he always had a passion for making dance floor go crazy!!!  He got his first turntables and mixer when he lived in Mt-Tremblant, Qc in 2000.  Since psytrance and hard tech were his first love he started pumping speakers at friends and local parties. He moved to Fernie, Bc in 2004 where he start slowly getting gigs at local venues.  After having a reputation for getting noise complaint at 4am he bought a big Sound System and some generaters to move his events in the wild nature of Bc, building wooden stages, setting up christmas lights, big bonfire and great sound...ALWAYS FREE OF CHARGE.

After meeting new friends, his style of music grew to many different genre going from minimal, tech house, electro, breaks, psybreaks, reggae jungle, dnb to dark psy for those who like to go hard. ahahahahahahaha....Since then, you can see him bouncing around behind his turntables monkey style and always laughin at many venues all over bc, such as Whistler, Revelstoke, Calgary, Fernie, Kananaskis...

His passion for FREE outdoor events has brought together many djs, friends, producers, promoters together to invest their effort, talent and time towards making those event happening all for the love of BEATZ

The last couple years he’s been back in Quebec attending lots of festivals and meeting a different crew and now play from psychill, organic, deep tech and loves his psytech!!!!

Born in Ukraine and raised in Toronto, I've been writing and recording vocals since 2011 (mostly DnB). Working with producers like Mefjus and Nymfo, I’ve been grateful to release music on labels including Liquicity, MODUS, Metalheadz, Critical, RAM, Shogun and more. I grew up studying classical piano, sang in choirs, fell in love with jazz and hip hop, and went to business school. 

After recording vocals in my bedroom for many years, I began working with Toronto producer/DJ Tyr Kohout in 2017 to record and edit all of my vocal projects. Then we started performing as a live duo in 2019 and have played at music festivals and nightclubs in Canada and Europe (UK, France, Germany, Austria, Netherlands and Belgium). 

In 2021, I changed my artist name from "Anastasia" to my longtime internet handle "flowanastasia". In 2022, I was nominated for "Best Vocalist" at the Drum&BassArena Awards, which was a surreal dream come true. That year, I also released my first vocal sample pack on Deviant Audio and my song "The One" was performed by a 35-piece UK orchestra at OrchestRAM. 

In 2023, I was so grateful to win “Best Vocalist” at the TorontoDnB Awards and get married to Tyr Kohout. In 2024, we made our European festival debuts at Rampage Open Air, Exit and Liquicity Festival! 

I’m not a full-time musician yet, but it’s been my dream since childhood and I’m just grateful you’re here for the journey.
