The Moth and the Mirror are a 6-piece Glasgow-based outfit made up of Stacey Sievwright (The Reindeer Section, Arab Strap), – Vocals; Guitar; Gordon Skene (Frightened Rabbit) – Guitar, Vocals; Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow, Song of Return) – Guitar/Vocals; Kevin McCarvel – Bass; Iain Sandilands – Percussion; Peter Murch – Drums

The Moth and the Mirror are back after a sabbatical with the resplendent ‘Lights in the Sky’. This stunning track catapults the band back into the limelight ahead of their forthcoming album release later in the year. Recorded by Dave McAuley at Chem 19 Studios and mixed by Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Super Furry Animals, Belle and Sebastian), ‘Lights in the Sky’ is the perfect re-introduction to this consummate 6-piece.

Since making their live debut in October 2006, the band have played T in the Park and Connect Festival, Dunstaffnage and Sounds in the Grounds. They have gained previous radio play on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Scotland and XFM Scotland. They have also supported the likes of Snow Patrol and Band of Horses.

Olive Grove Records are very proud to announce that ‘Lights in the Sky’ will be The Moth and the Mirror’s debut release through our label and will mark the start of the build up to their highly anticipated album release.

In anticipation of their debut album the band are giving away new song ‘Lights in the Sky’ for free on their Bandcamp page from the 1st of August.
