Since I was a kid, Ozzy Osbourne has been more than just a voice in my headphones, he's been a presence in my life, a symbol of defiance, vulnerability, chaos, and artistry all wrapped into one. There was something about him, even early on, that made me feel understood. Like he was speaking directly to the misfit kid inside me, the one who didn’t quite fit in, who felt too loud, too strange, too sensitive for the world. Ozzy made that feel like a superpower instead of a curse.

The first time I heard his voice, that raw, haunted, unmistakable wail, something lit up in me. His music carried pain and power, a kind of theatrical madness that resonated deeply. Whether it was Black Sabbath's darkness or his solo work’s bizarre brilliance, it never felt like just music. It felt like a portal. Like I could step into his world, and in doing so, find the courage to create my own.

As an artist, I’ve pulled from that same place, that blurred line between horror and honesty, between spectacle and soul. Ozzy didn’t hide the scars. He amplified them. And that has shaped everything I do. He showed me how to build a world around your truth, how to take your trauma and make it thunderous, how to embrace the twisted beauty of being different.

But beyond the music, it’s the resilience that’s stuck with me. Ozzy has fallen, broken, been laughed at, written off, and yet, he’s still here. Still making art. Still being himself, unapologetically. That’s real inspiration. That’s survival as an art form.

So thank you, Ozzy. For the music. For the madness. For being my weird, black-eyed lighthouse all these years. I wouldn’t be the artist I am without you, and honestly, I wouldn’t be the person I am either.

Long live the Prince of Darkness. You’ve given this outcast a voice, a path, and a reason to keep going. I hope you like this tribute.
