When I started my journey into music, many years ago, there were so many grounds to explore.
I started exploring techno music, but little by little my concerns went beyond. This album that I share with you today is a sample of my experimental tracks, which I made along all those years. 
Some of this tracks were made more than 15 years ago. 
I had the good fortune to exhibit them @ Mutek in Barcelona a few years ago, but I never found the time to release them.
Today I have decided to publish them for free, the free download is activated in my soundcloud account.
Music has always been my channel of expression, my source of life, my devotion and I feel blessed in this life every day for being able to share it with the world.

It is Monday the 24th of February 2014 and we have Argentina born and Barcelona based Sebastian Lopez aka Flug for the first time on the CLR Podcast. Over the last ten years, Flug has positioned himself in the global Techno scene as one of the most promising producers and performers. He has been an integral part of the Argentine and Barcelona scene and his productions have made it into the playlists of some of the most acclaimed international artists. You can find his work on labels such as Stockholm Ltd, Sleaze, SINO, Enemy and very soon he will release four original tracks on the “Sincrodestino EP” on CLR. His main label is Glasgow's Sleaze Records where he has released countless songs and the very first album of the imprint. The present set has been recorded live, last Thursday at CLR´s weekly Disturbance party in Berlin. CLR079 is Flug´s first release on Chris Liebing´s internationally regarded imprint, a four track EP with original productions by the man who has become one of Argentina´s most promising up and coming Techno artists. The quality and depth of his productions has gained him the respect of numerous famous colleagues and has placed his tracks in the record bags and playlists of some of the most significant global Techno players. 

The EP consists of the title track “Sincrodestino”, as well as further secret weapons “The Following”, “Resistance” and “Consequence”, four faultlessly produced pieces of up-to-date, uncompromising Techno. After playing out Flug´s tracks all over the planet for years, it was only a matter of time that Chris Liebing would offer this gifted and skilled producer to release some of his tracks. The fourth edition of SHDW’s flagship ‘Federation Of Rytm’ VA series has been carefully curated by the DJ/ producer and head honcho over more than a year, with close attention to detail given to sequencing. It is a balance of label regulars and debutants that represents the past, present, and future, both sonically and through the generational diversity of the artists involved. There are plenty of surprises along the way while always remaining true to the Mutual Rytm ethos and reflecting the journey of the night from start to finish, whether that's in intimate, sweaty clubs or on big festival stages.

Across 30 tracks in the digital collection and 24 on four sides of wax, the release explores the full breadth of the Mutual Rytm sound. Driving grooves and relentless percussion set the pace, gradually unfolding into hypnotic and atmospheric passages that invite deeper immersion. Pulsating low-end power alternates with eerie minimalism, while bursts of futuristic energy and cavernous kick drums keep the tension high. Elsewhere, dub textures and moments of introspection provide balance, creating a narrative arc that moves fluidly between intensity and release, atmosphere and tension, darkness and light.

When I started my journey into music, more than 18 years ago, there were so many grounds to explore.
I started exploring techno music, but little by little my concerns went beyond. This album that I share with you today is a sample of my experimental tracks, which I made along all those years. 
Some of this tracks were made more than 15 years ago. 
I had the good fortune to exhibit them @ Mutek in Barcelona a few years ago, but I never found the time to release them.
Today I have decided to publish them for free, the free download is activated in my soundcloud account.
Music has always been my channel of expression, my source of life, my devotion and I feel blessed in this life every day for being able to share it with the world.

Flug - The Collection Quartz [QRZ LP001]

Having carved out a lane truly his own in the often harshly competitive world of techno, Argentinian-born / Barcelona-based producer Sebastian Lopez, alias Flug, has long proven to be no bit player in the scene and his compositions have kept signalling a fighting fit producer, whose highest standards of floor skippering and experimentation-friendly approach have never failed him over the years. Resurfacing three years after the drop of his debut vinyl album, 'In Safe Hiding', Flug clocks in on Quartz Rec with 'Flug I - The Collection' - a long-player bound to reconnect fully with the club and produce very energetic tracks that represent the techno he loves playing during his DJ sets. All tracks were originally written on tour, on the plane or in hotel rooms to better capture the dancefloor's vibe, using field recordings from around the globe and later processed in the studio via his analogue arsenal of preference.
 
Displaying the many octaves of his craft through great spreads of high-impact club engineering and frenzy-whipping mechanics, Flug takes us on a pulsating ride across the history of dance music - taking cues from Detroit's own cosmo-telluric tramplers from back the Underground Resistance armada's heyday, the Roman scene's classic acidulous four-to-the-floors, Berlin's big-room-busting DNA, dredged with a hint of dubby exploratory manoeuvres a la Maurizio. Both mineral in strength but liquid in its flowing abilities, Lopez's newest extension into the deep and intricate realms of club music collages without pastiching, extracts without bleeding dry, forming the backbone to an assortment of cuts that shall awake the restless dancer in you with optimal effect.
 
If tracks like the lushly verbed-out 'Ephos' and 'Sequences From The Black Basement' perhaps best define the track collection's overall headspace, merging Flug's trademark melodic shine with further obliterating rhythms that are sure to lay absolute waste in their wake, others like 'Mars' and 'Hyperventilation' go straight for the jugular with their deadly mix of paced-up martial rhythmics and elliptical grooves gone amok. Just as easy steering the focus into further leftfield-friendly horizons, like on the droney 'Ratio', via the freaky acid-popping of 'Box In A Box' and ambitious width of scope of 'A Different Choice', Lopez delivers something of a life-affirming message with this choice selection of club-oriented delicacies; drawing as much inspiration and energy from the dancefloors Flug got to become intimate with, as he intends to reflect such inspirational forces and energies across the rooms.

Flug, as his name suggests, allows his audience to take a trip back to their roots, back to their inner self and what it is to really feel techno. In venues such as, Space Ibiza, Arena Club Berlin, Rex Paris, Moog Barcelona, Hyte Amsterdam, and MAYDAY, Dortmund to name a few, the Argentinian´s definition of techno has been clearly demonstrated not only through his DJ sets that are as devastating as they are uplifting with his serious kick drums, use of hi-hats and reverberating basslines, but also through driving his own organically produced techno forward with an EP released on CLR - 'Sincrodestino', and remixes for SOMA - Slam Reverse Proceed Remixes, only to scratch the surface, cutting his industrially chizzled sound with melodical rythms both elegant and almost eloquent in nature.

His music is now recognised and played worldwide having artists such as, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer, Len Faki, Dave Clark, Ben Sims, Speedy J, DVS1, Pfirter, Oscar Mulero, among many others, as supporters of his work.

Flug´s unrivaled and brutal self-discipline in the studio, his humbleness in approach, his fierce passion for and overall dedication to the cause, as well as having grown up living and breathing electronic music, have given Flug, real name Sebastian, a long and welcoming insight into what it really means to be a DJ and producer in today's techno world, which in his opinion, means keeping it real.

Having a solid carrer in what he truly loves, Flug now plans to start his own record label early next year with his new album 'The Man Behind the Artist', already in the pipeline to be edited and released on one of Berlin's record labels, Enemy at the end of 2015. The album, when finished, will be by far his most personal and reflective piece of work, as it is, in his words, "statement of freedom".
