Fluidlake is a Zurich-based artist creating Psytrance and Acidcore, with influences from a variety of cultures and styles, since their cultural heritage stretches from the West, over Europe, to Asia.
Aged 23, their journey began more than 10 years ago, producing music on a Windows XP computer and walking around with a ZOOM H2 recording various sounds for the pieces. Already from the start, and quite consistently over those 10 years they developed their own distinct style without much outside influence, with a mix of trippy, de-tuned melodies and arpeggios, dreamy soundscapes, and driving beats. At first this translated mostly into Chiptune, Melodic House, Trance, Melodic Techno, with some psychedelic elements. For the last three years, Fluidlake has been more involved in live performance, taking their stylistic, emotional and technical experience from the last 10 years and building on top if it, creating unique, fluid, evolving DJ sets that almost always resonate with the crowd. Currently, they are focused on Psychedelic Trance and Acidcore, while still staying true to their own distinct, superordinate artistic style.
They are active in supporting local feminist and queer movements & efforts in regards to music creation, performance and organization. Part of this is the founding of the indie label Fluidity, under which local events are organized and music is released.
