This tune is based on a story I read in The Crimson Fairy Book, called "To Your Good Health!"

You see, there's a king, and every time he sneezes the whole kingdom must say "to your good health!" Most seem not to mind, but there's a single shepherd who just will not do this. The king summons him, and when the shepherd still refuses, the king throws him into a den with ten wild, hungry boars. The shepherd doesn't miss a beat: he pulls out a pocket flute and plays "a merry tune, on which the wild boars first of all shrank shyly away, and then got up on their hind legs and danced gaily." (How could I resist writing about this?)

The bit with the boars ends soon enough, when "he played faster and faster till they could hardly twist and turn quickly enough, and ended by all falling over each other in a heap, quite exhausted and out of breath."

Doing 50/90 for the third time, figured I'd upload some of the songs I write for it. For those unfamiliar with it, you write 50 songs in 90 days, starting July 4th. I'll be posting some of the highlights along the way!

Okay, Alright [5090 #1]

This is a demo I wrote ages ago and stumbled upon recently. I don't really make LoFi music anymore, as there is simply too much AI-generated LoFi out there, along the lines of something something something "velvet reverie pulsating whispered neon echoes drift" something, and it can be difficult to tell the human-generated stuff from the AI-generated ones in the case of Lo-Fi cause quite frankly, Lo-Fi is one style AI imho has mastered. However, I remembered how cool this loop was and decided to remaster it and revive it from the shadow realm. Tonally, it's a slow-tempoed Jazz/Blues type of instrumentation with an improved lead section. This track was initially intended to be a backing track for guitar improv sessions.

When the trees of the Licorice Whip Jungles give way to pink and amber grasslands, you've reached the fruity lands of the wild savanna.

Dotted with candied shrubs and covered in delicious red fruit, it's easy to lose oneself in the lush, untamed vegetation! Keep your wits though, Pilot Heroperson, for the Marshmeteor threat looms overhead!

Dodge the candied wildlife and take cover from the juicy monsoons that rustle these sun-kissed grasslands, but don't forget to take a few berries home as a lovely, delicious memory of the Strawberry Savanna!
