Ark W is a daring and intense atonal techno album that challenges the listener's expectations of electronic music. The album features a raw and industrial sound, with harsh textures and dissonant melodies that evoke a feeling of mechanical disarray.

The opening track, "A Transformative Time," sets the tone for the album with its frenetic rhythms and melodic synth riffs, while " Ditto Walk" builds on this foundation with complex polyrhythms and glitchy effects. The lack of a discernible melody or tonality creates a sense of unease, drawing the listener in and forcing them to confront the discomfort of the music.

The album's title track, “Ark W,” is a standout with its hypnotic distorted baseline and a changing soundscape. As the album progresses, tracks like "MeterGain:red " and " Resurrection Tool " delve deeper into the dark and dystopian themes of the album. The track "Stage 2050" provides a moment of respite with its stripped-back percussion and eerie atmospherics, before the album closes with the euphoric and atmospheric “Unspoken Bond” giving some powerful and uplifting energy to the journey Skodde delivers.

Ark W is an album that demands attention and rewards the listener with its intricate sound design and unconventional structures. This is a bold and uncompromising work.

For the next Blue Hour Music chapter, a special friend of the label’s family is stepping in. Hailing from the city of Delft, Dutch composer Spekki Webu delivers ‘Tenzan’, a forceful 4-track EP which might be the producer’s most ambitious project to date. Spawned from a place of personal reflection, Tenzan is the result of the ongoing cycle of life that has been influencing Webu since his early years. This philosophy was heightened after a fascination for mountains and a series of dreams about enlightenment on top of a sacred hill. These dreams later became reality after witnessing a ‘Tenzan’ (translated as ‘heavenly mountain’) during a trip in the Japanese wilderness. The cycle of life as represented by the heavenly mountain formed the spiritual direction to complete the narrative for this long-running Blue Hour project - as the leaves fell into place a new cycle began. Aligned in force and vigor, the A-side takes off with ‘Okada’, a grooving tension builder led by ominous melodies that drift off into the depths of the forests. Entering a state of empyrean elevation, ‘Horizon’ is a dub-induced peak-time roller of monumental grandeur. On the B side, the gears shift as ‘Solaris’ unveils a contemporary reinterpretation of 90s acid trance, fusing psyche-warping panned drones and minimalistic drum programming set to make blood pressures rise. Coming full circle, ‘Eion’ delivers euphoric salvation with a pulsating bassline guided by dreamy, repetitive soundscapes that reach for atmospheric heights. Vertigo-induced and wisdom-fueled, Spekki Webu opens the portal to the next cycle of sonic exploration marking the 25th release on Blue Hour Music.

Returning to his roots in live production, OTON shares the 4-track EP Aurora on his imprint Alliance Club. Following his previous neo-rave stylings on the label, Aurora is the product of hours spent in OTON's Brussels-based studio, where he worked with a DAW-less setup and a newly acquired tangle of gear. Such tools remained instrumental in crafting the sonically rich textures of Aurora and OTON's forthcoming album, New Forms Of Silence, drawing from a palette of mental techno, hypnotic tribe, and psy tek. Two tracks from the album—due for release in spring 2025—feature on Aurora, comprising the title track and 'Voltage Controls'. 

"I have always wanted to explore modular synthesisers and polyrhythmic sequencing, but I wanted to inject some of the sounds I've worked with previously, like psychedelic and trippy techno," says OTON. "So I built a modular and produced the album with it. I locked myself in my flat for three or four months and went into a full analogue workflow. Producing with hardware and machines is more natural and enjoyable for me. I'm more creative. And because my background is in composing and performing in bands, Aurora and New Forms Of Silence mark my return to the live set and my musical origins, and a new direction in my sound and process, shifting further and further away from the DAW." 

Fusing a misty soundscape with sheets of squelch, 'Aurora' opens the EP on a beatless note before morphing into a gnarly curveball, formed by an eerie violin-like melody, rubbery drums and squiggly motifs, provoking an atmosphere that's equal parts sharp, sinister and soft. 

On 'Quad Funktion', OTON whips up warbling polyrhythms and tinkling sonic FX, coalescing into an intricate tapestry of psychedelic ambience and relentless technoid drums. While there's no dramatic breakdown to signify a gear change, it's not needed. This is a wormhole for those hazy moments on the dancefloor post-sunrise. 

Shaped by a witchy backdrop and murky bassline, 'Full Reset' meshes visceral sounds that span gurgles and squirmy synths, writhing like snakes between leathery drums. Ideal for swift left-turns into darker, moodier territories. 

Closing out the EP on 'Voltage Controls', which features on OTON's upcoming album in Spring 2025, a combination of horn-like motifs, a melancholic melody and a glitchy soundscape form a fierce and fiery alchemy, building to an urgent, claustrophobic nightmare—a potent teaser of what else OTON has lined up on New Forms Of Silence.

The six-track digital release also features a remix by @feral_music, who reimagines "Guidance4" with his signature deep techno textures and immersive atmospheres.​
