My contribution to the Soundcloud day, turned out it was only me this day...:) Still, made the time to make a semi-finished edition of this track, and wanted to contribute something at least. This is made completely surrounded by water and dark feelings, and represents the riptide...turn your subs up high...;)

Fluxien - Sinkerseed (Draft 3)

A rather dark and moody track, but it kind of grew on me, and in the end I felt almost like if it had a personality of it's own. Any way, hope you enjoy it, just finished tweaking it a little, so I guess it's finished, although I might play some more with the different parts later and make some remixes. If anyone wants to have a go at remixing it, give me a shout!

Fluxien - Tron

I've been going through some old recordings and mix tapes lately, and had a lot of fun listening to some of the things I found. So, I figured I'd share some with you all. First off is this, a short set/intro bit that I put together back in the end of the merry nineties. I used this combination of tracks and variations of them as intro many times between 97-98, but recorded this particular bit in 1999, reminiscing of sorts I guess. I still get a good gut feeling when listening to these tracks, either in the mix or as solo tracks - I really love each one of them.

Extra points to anybody who can id the tracks! ;)

Fluxien - Octarine Rausch [1999]

Another one from the pile of old recordings..:) This is a set recorded in summer 2002, it was only supposed to be one hour long since I already played one set earlier that night, but an enthusiastic crowd (and dj) made it last a bit longer...:) Really had a great time that night, and listening to this set brings back some fond memories. I still have a chuckle when I listen to the mixing style, I used to be much more heavy on the bass and the layering of tunes at that time, and some times I feel like I should take the time to mix the same set now, to see how different it would sound...:) Still, it made for a really thumping dance floor, and I hope you'll enjoy listening to it!

Fluxien - Retron

Ok. So I logged onto my Soundcloud account. I have not posted anything for 6 years. I still love music, have our studio(s), but I do not post anything anymore. I don't know if it's because I don't have the desire anymore to peddle what I am doing, or if I dropped out of audiosocial media, but I will try to improve. This is me jamming with my self last night. It sucks balls, but I liked it and leaked it. Lets see where this goes.

The main thing for me this time was experimenting with my (ancient) Roland D-50 and some new patches to see if I could stick to one instrument. All sounds and the patches are live recordings from the D-50, which is why not everything might seem in place, but I loved the groove, and would like to post this, and (maybe later) the finished s*it to be able to compare. If you like it, make me finish it ;)

Fluxien - Tailwagger (Draft 2013-05-03)

Born 1976 in Norway, I watched and listened as music and arts went from analogue to digital, from Bill Laswell and Jan Hammer's early synthesizers I was curious of how this was at all possible, to make sound out of nothing...and Jean-Michelle Jarre didn't exactly make it easier, I mean, playing lasers between skyscrapers is pretty awesome. I was ten at the time, and my fascination of electro-sound was fueled by the likes of Biosphere and the Orb in the years to come, with photomanipulation and morphing making the music video industry what it used to be.
Even though I have worked as many different things through my life, I have never been able to NOT work with my music, pictures and words. A creative outlet is the best way to keep a sane mind in an insane world, someone really smart once said...I agree...:)

I started mixing tapes as early as I can remember, and started playing live at self-made parties and local clubs in the early/mid-90's before working with commercial radio for a while in the late 90's. But the floor has always been my favorite place, so I started playing clubs/venues again in 2000, and since then I've been playing when the occasion rises, and the crowd is right..:)
Production:
I got my first computer/synthesizer set in 1989, an Atari ST with keyboard which was my first introduction to digital music. It didn't last long, the C64 and the SID chip was soon in everybody's home, and it is much more fun to do something together with others. The sounds we made were terrible, and the tracks were mostly used to scare our parents, but the learning experience left a taste for more, and the digital workstations that would cost you a car were suddenly the price of a nice bike. I've been producing stuff in the studio since I got my first PC and sound card, ranging from the recording of airplane engines and making tunes to remixes and mastering, but most of my studio effort these days are more directed toward recording, production and (re)mixing.
