So proud to share my EP 'Upside Down', released on the legendary Japanese label mulemusiq with you. 🐝

Before we head into faster territories with my releases, I decided to produce something playful, slow and enriched with my acoustic instruments such as my main one, the violin and also one which I've auto didactically taught myself - the flute. I used the traditional Chinese Xiao flute as well as the classic flute. 
It felt so satisfying to weave these beautiful sounds into the arrangements, to let the acoustic world blend into the electronic realm - it works so well 😍

It's been fun to explore the housy territory for mulemusiq in this release. I've always wanted to do that and it ended up to be my very own version of house, as it's located somewhere in between different genres but still offers some characteristics of house in the tracks besides 'Beyond Light and Shade', which is more breakbeaty and might go more into the direction of general Electronica I guess.

The whole cosmos of the EP is a surreal one, inspired by things like Adventure Time, Ghibli and Nintendo games like Zelda BOTW or Animal Crossing. 
I love weird things, which seem to be random at first but still harmonic in a way. The vocal of Upside Down was a freestyle which I recorded in one go - I love writing lyrics and telling stories which make no sense but create a new surreal world, loaded with cuteness, pictures full of fantasy and of course my beloved nature inspired motifs such as leafs growing out of my ears ;)

Dreams always speak to us in their own language. For some, they’re reflections of anxiety. For others — messages from within. But for South African producer Vli M (@vlim76706), hailing from Johannesburg, dreams are music. His debut on [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB], "Amaphupho (Dreams) EP", is like a chronicle of dreams caught in a web of low frequencies, deep echoes, and urban pulse.

:::"Take Me There" — From the very first seconds, you enter a dream on the move: the city dissolves in a haze of bass, and time pulses through filters.
:::"Dub In My City" — An urban mantra dedicated to the rhythms of the streets and the spirit of dub. Everything merges in a single breath.
:::"Amaphupho" — The title track, whose name means "dreams" in Zulu, serves as a meditative leitmotif for the entire work.
:::"For Your Eyes" — Closing the original four is an intimate, almost cinematic sketch from the inner depths.

Nicolas Barnes’ Glory Shadow EP, the 140th release in the Mood Series, delivers a masterful blend of deep, heady textures and precise production. Across five tracks, Barnes crafts a blend that both captures and challenges the listener with its intricate rhythms and atmospheric layers.
The opening track, 'Fiber Square Ground', immediately drops you into an expansive atmosphere before a killer rhythm emerges. The addictive groove keeps the track grounded while chords swell and fade in a way that feels like a slow-motion sunrise. It’s an impressive opener that primes you for the emotional depth to follow. Next, 'Asked Question' ups the intensity with its airy, layered production. The chords are flighty, giving a sense of soaring through space.
