Originally commissioned as incidental cues for a short film by Helsinki based designer Paola Suhonen, Intiaani Kesä (Indian Summer) by multi-instrumentalist Jane Weaver has since grown into a fully formed project lending itself to a number of further cinematic productions and creative applications . Appearing alongside Demdike Stare and Brigitte Fontaine in the vampire film Kiss Of The Damned by Xan (daughter of John) Cassevetes and recut and performed as an alternative rescore to Eiichi Yamamoto's Belladonna Of Sadness for various live performances, this set of well-crafted themes takes it's brazen influences of Nicolai, Dell'Orso, Alessandroni and Daniella Casa back to their purest analog recording origins with startling effect. Recorded in an old vicarage near the Peak District, housing a unique analogue experimental studio, Intiaani Kesä hears Weaver deploy a wide range of instruments including tubular bells, bowed guitars, vintage Goblinised Roland string synths, detuned pianos, church bells, Roland guitar synths, harpsichords and ex-Radiophonic Workshop custom equipment as accompaniment to wordless and onomatopoeic chorale vocals recorded on valve microphones with space echo, sonic room reverbs and bespoke experimental tape delays. Made in a disciplined and unforgiving environment without modern technological shortcuts these self-initiated creative research prototypes were not initially intended for commercial release but are thankfully gathered here as songs in there own right independent of context.

Ultra-rare jazz-funk/fusion album by Japanese drummer, Akira Ishikawa. Featuring percussion-heavy versions of ‘Let's Start’, ‘Bongo Rock’ and ‘Pick Up The Pieces’.

'Back To Rhythm’ was the final recording in Ishikawa’s African-influenced period. He cut this record with his band ‘Count Buffalos’, featuring Kiyoshi Sugimoto, Takeru Muraoka, Larry Sunaga and arranger Hiromasa Suzuki.

Includes excellent cover versions of The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, BT Express, Stevie Wonder, Average White Band, Incredible Bongo Band and Fela Kuti.

Originally released in Japan in 1975 by Columbia, this is now extremely difficult to find in its original format, and very pricey indeed!

Akira Ishikawa - Do It Til You're Satisfied

It had been raining incessantly for months now, the streets seemed desolate as if the locals had abandoned them, opting instead for the safety of their own homes. The sky was eternally overcast and gloomy, but in downtown the bright neon signs of the shops lit up the neighbourhood in fluorescent pinks, blues and greens. Here, the mood was different, the people were hopeful. In swathes, the inhabitants walked the vibrantly illuminated streets, filling them with laughter and enthusiastic chitchat. There was no point mourning, life was too short for that. 

Slow Motion's sister label Wrong Era welcome Pardon Moi to the family AKA Berlin-based duo James Brook and Thomas Freudenthal. The pair produce three original tracks of new wave aimed directly at the dance floor - our favourite is label manager Franz Scala's Italo twist on the title track.

After an edit for @Ombrainternational in their lust & fury edits 1, Mufti (@muftimix) returns to Ombra International with a full-blown track "Control"  designed with few but robust elements. This multi-instrumentalist, producer, and DJ from Guadalajara, México has shown his musical background with a melody that turns into an anthem as the track proceeds to formulate its story that is driven by its simple but powerful bassline.

@size-pier is a Paris based producer, DJ and resident of the iconic Champ Libre collective. He cut his teeth DJing in the Parisian underground/techno circuit before eventually touring across the world in disparate places such as Russia, South Korea, Germany and elsewhere. This release “Typhoon in Busan” marks his first output as a producer with 4 original tracks plus 2 remixes by fellow Parisian @illnurse & X-IMG head @sarinvx. “Typhoon in Busan” is a forceful first entry for the young producer who cleverly combines influences from minimal synth, body music and dark techno to achieve a distinctly unique sound that will surely evolve with time.
