A song about a lady that lived an immoral, selfish life in wealth and luxury. Now she is being judged for the way she lived her sinful life. She never had much faith and didn't believe God's Word written in the Bible. She wants to escape judgement only to realize that there is a price to pay and it's too late to repent. Based on the parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25).

'The Girl in the Picture' is based on the novel by Kim Phuc called “Fire Road”, about the life of Kim, once known as the screaming 9-year-old girl in the world-famous black and white picture taken by Nick Ut after a napalm bomb attack by US troops in North Vietnam. Kim Phuc is now UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Culture and Peace and chair of the Kim Foundation International, a not-for-profit organization established to fund programs for children around the world who are victims of war.

'Same Kind of Shine' is a romantic and uplifting story about a guy who is still madly in love with his girl-friend. He compares the twinkling in her eyes with the stars shining on the water of the lake where they first met.

'Mysterious' is about a guy who wonders where his girl-friend hangs out at night. Sometimes, she disappears without giving any sign. It seems clear that she is cheating on him, and that she doesn't take the relationship as seriously as he does.

Thanks to the injection of a swinging guitar line and a catchy sing-along chorus, "I'm Not Afraid of the Dark" is nothing less than an unpretentious pop tune. A song with a Christian lyric that glistens like a glowing ray of light in these dark Corona times. There are scripture references to Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 1:18, Joshua 1:9, Psalm 23:4, Psalm 34:4, Psalm 56:3 and Romans 4:25. With a tune like this in your headphones, you no longer have to be afraid of the dark. Just join in the roar! There is hope in uncertain times.

'Love to Love' was released on 8 December 2020. Fittingly also on this day we commemorated the sad and untimely death, 40 years ago, of John Lennon. 

'Love to Love', written by Eric Geurts, is a musical tribute to the dreamer John Lennon, written in a style reminiscent of Lennon’s own distinctive Beatles style.

With a release date just before Christmas, 'Love to Love' is above all an idealistic plea for more love and peace in these challenging times. Staying with the theme of John Lennon’s music, the B-side is a cover of Lennon's song 'Love'.

Every year we go to the Philippines to visit my wife's family. The most important event during our yearly holiday is the organization of the 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 in Manila during the Christmas season.

Some 40 years ago Pink Floyd created a rock opera about a character named Pink and his spiritual isolation from society, figuratively referred to as 'The Wall'.   'Free Our Hearts', the new song by singer-songwriter Eric Geurts strives to bring down the walls of racism in our minds and hearts. We are afraid of the unknown (other cultures) and therefore build walls of prejudice to protect ourselves. The expansive and passionate guitar solo, à la David Gilmour, is both compelling and dynamic.

This song is NOT about John (Lennon), George (Harrison) and Tom (Petty) having a drink in the mythic 'Temple Bar'... Although the music might recall the like!

"Heaven" is a romantic pop ballad about a loving angel, written and performed by singer-songwriter Eric Geurts. In his first solo release, Eric evokes the angelic feelings of a new found love.

Loneliness is a stone-cold killer. Without friendship, we are scared creatures lost in our little bubble. We so desperately long to share feelings and experiences. 

'You're not alone' by Eric Geurts revolves around this theme. In a - at least at first hearing - winsome ballad with beautiful guitar lines and a lovely wobbling chorus, the lyrics tell about the need for friendship, love and compassion. In 1974, John Lennon sang: 'Nobody loves you when you're down and out'. Lennon's soul haunts this song, but unlike the rather cynical Lennon song, 'You're not alone' sounds like an ode to friendship, to compassion in these lockdown times when much human suffering takes often strike deep wounds into our very souls. Friendship is a verb, it breaks through self-centeredness.
	
For those who doubt it all too often: 'You're Not Alone'... Somewhere there is someone who cares about you and sings this song for you!

On 14 April, Eric Geurts will release his solo debut CD. The single 'When The Love Is Gone' is already a nice rocking appetizer. 
		
'When The Love Is Gone' moulds rock and blues into a crunchy, bite-sized pop song with an easy-to-sing chorus and unmistakable guitar influences of both Z.Z. Top and Dire Straits.
		
The song is a typical real-life love story about a broken relationship, infidelity and deceit, but ends with a humorous wink.  
		
The chorus is a catchy sing-along, immediately recognisable to anyone who has ever been confronted with adultery or infidelity.
		
Is there a way back after betrayal? When love seeps away like a cracked jug? Will it ever be okay again? For some yes, for others no way! And some may still be persuaded?

Many musicians who have known the sixties or seventies (consciously or not...) have been heavily infected by the melodic pop music virus of those days. This diagnostic is more than accurate for the musical influences of guitarist, singer-songwriter and producer Eric Geurts. Since his early teens he plays and composes melodic pop- and rocksongs. His songbook is impressive: it contains more than 500 compositions.

His first official recording dates from 1984. With The Seconds he performs the song 'Time Has Changed You' on the LOF compilation.

Early nineties he is the creative force in Kiss The Bride. The band signs with EMI Belgium through which two attractive pop tunes are released: 'When the Love Is Gone' and 'Sometimes It Just Ain't Enough'. In the slipstream of some TV performances Kiss The Bride intensively tours the local concert circuit.

In 1997 another hit single emerges from Eric's musical brain. For Universal Music Belgium he composes and produces 'Not Afraid of the Dark', an exiting tune, performed by Indiana.

The new millennium appeals for a new milestone in Eric's career. In 2003 he creates his own record label Flying Snowman Records. He contracts female singer Yanah to work on a full CD. The first release with Yanah is the single 'The Girl In The Picture'. The song is an homage to Kim Phuc, the screaming little girl running away from napalm fire in the world famous picture taken by Nick Ut in 1972 during the Vietnamese war. Kim is now leading an NGO for children victims of war. All the benefits of the song are for The Kim Foundation International.

'All She's Saying', the second single from the CD, gets a lot of airplay on FM4. Another release 'Back Against the Wall' gets a heavy rotation on Radio 2. Yanah sings the song on popular television shows like 'Tien om te Zien' and 'Zomerhit 2004'. With 'Yes or No', the next single, Yanah attends preselections of the Eurosong contest of 2004 for Belgium. 'The Morning After' gets a lot of airplay on the Flemish radio’s. The full cd 'The Girl in the Picture' receives very positive press reviews. Yanah's band, with Eric as lead guitarist and musical director, play many in- and outdoor concerts.

After producing some local musical acts and playing a lot of concerts with the classic cover band NeverB4, Eric now steps forward as a solo artist with a new release. The single 'Heaven' is a melodious pop ballad with a serious reminiscence to the glorious post-Beatle sound of John Lennon or Tom Petty.
