In 2007 after producing "Badman Forward Badman Pull up for Jamaica's Leading Dancer / Entertainer Ding Dong, he decided to experiment in the studio with his own music. By this time, Ricky was popular as a local New York DJ, and had already created his then crew "Rolling Stones" which featured popular New York Dancer Fresh Prince, and friends Junior Vibes, Donavan known in the group as Dvd and Markie. Also around that time Ricky just opened The Red Room Studio located in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. The new recording studio allowed Ricky to be creative in his own way creating this mega hit "Cut Dem Off" which became a New York favorite instantly when it was featured on Station Hot 97, by Popular DJ Mister Cee. The song traveled all the way to The U.K. and even ended up in the 53rd issue of the Fader magazine being called its own genre "Trance-hall". Cut Dem Off was a huge anthem to American descendant kids of Caribbean background, allowing Ricky to throw massive teen parties in Brooklyn and setting him as a trendsetter. Ricky was one of the first few artist to use YouTube as a platform back in 2007, dancers all over would post videos of them dancing to Cut Dem Off and upload to their YouTube Channel.
